I love the turnograph, but that patina on the exp is awesome. I have a polar 216570 and want to add a black dial expII at some point. That one would be great.

I have a black tog, deepsea, hulk, datejust blue arabic.

Would another tog be too much? The whiteface looks good on the tog, better movement, bracelet, rehaut etc. im just scared the explorer will feel too flimsy compared to my modern rolexes

The full package is likely a safer bet. I personally like having working lume on my watches. The ExpII is a more functional watch as it has a GMT function as well as date and time. IMHO the TOG is the prettier watch. I'm curious as to how you narrowed down to only these two watches.

I have the black tog and love it. I can get the white tog for a good deal. I feel you see more of the red detail with the tog.

I like the 91 explorer with an n serial because its vintage/ older rolex with patina and papers. I never felt or tried on an older exp 2 and i dont wanna be dissapointed with the flimsy hollow bracelet. There both in the 4grand range. Whats the better buy?

Best deals are likely determined by research. As far as the best deal here I'd tend to side on the ExpII side. A more important question is which one you like the most. I find the 40mm watches are in general more to my liking. I also have watches with the older bracelets and don't mind the bracelets at all.

I dont have any whites watches. But that white and red tog looks good. I already have a tog 116264 in black. It has good weight and feel for a smaller 36mm, comes in at 129grams on my scale. Research on the forum shows the bigger 40mm exp2 weights less at 126grams.

This is an easy choice, ExpII with full papers and recent service. The service alone is worth $700-800.

TOG for me. They are not exactly plentiful, when compared to Explorer II.

TOG all the way! Cool, unique and discontinued. Not at all collectable, but a neat mixture of sport / dress.

I bitterly regret selling mine. (It was an emergency, I had no choice)

I have the black TOG and 116200 DJ. Do you think another tog is too much? Or should i diversify with the exp2

I prefer the TOG compared to this particular Exp II but I hope that picture is not the one for sale because it looks photoshopped to me i.e the bezel and dial look like they have been pasted over a stock pic of the case and bracelet!!

what's a good price on a TOG without box/papers? under $4k? based on the EXII comparison, I'd say you're looking at both of these closer to $4500?

EXPII hands don't seem to match dial. There are millions of those floating around. If you're planning to sell, a modern Rolex without box/papers really limits your potential buyers, add that to an unpopular model and you may own the TOG for life. What about waiting on a polar EXPII? Those can be found without box/papers for around 4K....

I have a black tog. My first Rolex and glad I have held on to it over the years. Exp is little more sporty with your current collection.

Looks good. I like the white dial model too. Without papers isn’t ideal but price makes it real tempting to be honest!!

I love the 16570, but having a TOG in black and another in white is just so cool and unique. Wear one on each wrist.

That white TOG is so heavily polished that the bezel looks like it's melting :)
I have a white TOG and it's great but seeing that you already have a black TOG and a blue DJ, I'd recommend that you diversify a bit and get the Explorer 2. Considered looking for a pre-owned Explorer 1? That might be a nice option for you as well.
