After looking at the Buy and Sell section of our forum..Are we really in Recession??
Hey guys dont you notice something in the buy and sell section of our forum??Almost all the watches being auction on that section are so cheap...i mean Deepsea's,GV,LV,PAM,SUBS,GMTIIC etc etc...almost all the prices are so tempting...but the question is "how come nobody's buying"??I this happened 2-3 years ago...this watches will be gone as soon as its posted..but now some has been there for 1 months ans still not sold...I wish i really have the extra cash....Do you guys feel the tightness of the money too?? Any thoughts??

Look on any watch forum. The same watches are being offered for sale day after day, week after week, and now month after month. Look at the sellers past posts and you will see what I mean. Nothing is moving. Prices have fallen to such low levels on everything except the true collector pieces (paul newman daytona's for example).
I personally haven't felt the pinch in my work. My brother, on the other hand, works in downtown Manhattan and has taken a big hit in salary and at the same time an increase in work load. Obama will fix it all |

I think people are a bit timid right now. I don't expect the real impact to the economy to be apparent until June 2009. At that point it will be vividly real where we are headed from a fiscal standpoint.
The pucker factor is very high right now for most of us.

I used to buy watches from my stock market profits. This has dried up somehow
Workwise, our headquarters announced global reduction of like 17000 heads back in May 2008. Unfortunately they won't offer me a package because I'm too expensive to be made redundant. |

I was planning to buy a watch before the year ends, but still contemplating, since local currency is getting weak.
(I'm considering saving till economy stabilized. Last year was'nt so bad.) |

My works are laying off left right and centre at the minute. Didn't help we were bought out earlier this year and they are stripping staff like no tomorrow
We were told that by March 60% of middle management will be gone I have never seen our town centre so quiet this near Christmas. This said I am still looking for a starter Rolex to go with my Tag, Omega and Breitling So if any of you got a cheap datejust going let me know. Martin |

A combination of factors obviously the biggest being the economy. I also see quite a few sellers not budging on top dollar prices and listing over and over and over...you get the idea!

This is a good time to purchase pre-loved Rolex's as they are also not at a premium. When they all start to go back up in value so will the pre-owned.
