New addition and I am now ready for Baselworld 2018

After Rolex introduced the new movement 3 years ago, this time of year before Baselworld I was like more concerned about what model Rolex could discontinue, instead of excited about what new model they would introduce. The recent global dry up of the SS models just maked this year's feeling worse.

With the current production line, one of the few always in my shopping list is the DS D-blue. I had concerns about its thickness before, but after owning PAM 005 I was confident I could handle the D-Blue as well. So last week I finally made up my mind and started calling ADs to check its availability, plus asking information on the SD 43 and Daytona C that also in my shopping list. For the first 4 or 5 AD I called their answers were basically the same: 1)forget about the 500c, 2)10-15 people waiting list for the SD43, 3) no waiting list for the D Blue and they can call me once in stock.

I finally found one on Saturday and picked it up to join my Rolex collection. Not only did the AD remove all stickers, but also was said to require to size the bracelet before letting it leave the shop. I didn't care and let them do so.

I have no idea what Rolex is smoking. 500 Daytona C white is the only one left I am really interested in. But I won't play if there is no fun anymore. The current ones I have shall be good for me for a long time I guess.

It's a perfect complement to your already impressive Rolex collection. I had a similar feeling when I picked up my D-blue last month. If it doesn't get discontinued this year, it's an amazing watch and I'm happy I went for it. You're going to love it, and I don't think the size is going to be an issue for you at all. I enjoy how solid the watch feels and how comfortably it wears.

Can't agree more. Now we can enjoy it and forget about if or when it will be discontinued.

Big congrats on acquiring the D-Blue DSSD. Hope it brings you much enjoyment. It's a rugged, stunningly beautiful watch, and I am continually amazed at how thoroughly comfortable it is. I am a fan of both versions.. Regards, -Rick.
