So after waiting 6 months to get my hands on my first new Rolex (normally a vintage Sub guy) it finally arrived, a brand spanking new SD43. After trying every micro adjustment and combination of number of link etc, I have come to the decision that it's just not comfortable for me. It is a seriously beautiful watch, but for my 7 inch wrist it just seems too heavy and not ideal for the daily watch that I was hoping for. I guess its back to Vintage for me. Sometimes you gotta know when to fold em.

Try removing the diver extension link. I have small wrists and find the SD 43 as comfortable as my previous YM.

This is what I have done with all my divers and it has worked like a charm every time.

Definitely remove the divers extensions for a more comfortable fit but also give it some time on the wrist to get used to the weight and the feel. Going from Vintage to this piece there's a significant difference.

Stick with it! I was a bit like that at first but once the divers extention is removed you DO get used to the extra heft. I love mine now

I tried that and a James Cameron an ended up with the latter. It didn’t do it for me either.

How long have you had it? Might just take a while to get used to the bigger size. A DSSD is fine on my 7 inch wrist when properly sized.

I had the same issues until i removed the diver extension, good advice.

Its not for everyone, especially if your'e used to vintage.

I'd echo the comments above for anyone else who can't get a comfortrable fit - take the divers extension link out and wear it on the snug side.

My wrist is slightly smaller than yours (but flat) and I fnd it extremely comfortable to wear. Some do find it needs a bit of acclimatisation.

I wore mine for nearly three weeks solid on a holiday in South East Asia just after I picked it up last year. Debated whether to take it (it is a big watch) but after a few days it felt fine and by mid way through it was like part of me.

I can appreciate that the weight and size (and caseback shape for those with round wrists) won't work for everyone.

Look on the bright side, as all the PM sports models are heavier still, you've just saved yourself a fortune

Like many, it's not for everyone. Beautiful watch and I love it but sounds like you might need to return to your vintage roots or maybe try a slightly smaller modern reference.

Take the diver extension out, and give it a few days. My initial impressions were also that it was heavy, but after about a week, it feels almost natural.

My wrist 7.5” and I also remove extension link on both SD43 and D-Blue and both are very comfortable!

but ... 7” flat shaped wrist here.

As above I removed the divers extension and I wear 5 links at 12 o’clock, 4.5 links at 6 o clock and it’s a perfect fit. I did the same on my Dblue (had to buy a half link from my AD).

It may just be that you’re used to vintage which will wear and FEEL much lighter and smaller.

Sorry it didn't work out, the SD43 is not for everyone...like others have said if you didn't try removing the divers extension and see how it feels. If not, move onto the next. Good luck.

What's the reason for diver extension removal? So it doesn't stick out of the clasp by that 0.25" or so?? Or?
