SkyDweller + 40mm sports model
Hi everyone,
Any SkyDweller owner here who also owns a 40mm sports model? Knowing the difference in size, is there an “adjustment” period when switching between these two watches? Isn’t it a bit odd having the “dressier” watch larger than the sports watch? Currently have a 16710 and am thinking of adding a black or white dial SkyDweller. I don’t know if the dial color would make a difference in terms of “variety “ if I chose the white dial, since I already have the GMT. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. I never feel an adjustment period. I've got a 116600 and 116500 that I've been wearing a lot of and never notice the difference really. Just put it on and wear it. I've also got my 16570, and 14060 but haven't been wearing them since I got the Sky D.

My current drivers are Sky Dweller TT and Sea Dweller 16600. Although 16600 is only 40mm and previously forum fav for bashing due to thickness, I think it's quite dainty by today standard. No issue with switching between these two. Previously had DSSD, that's a beast although still wearable but not a ideal daily driver for my 6.5in wrist.
Proper fit is important for all these watches. |

Yes....I’m sure it doesn’t, or wouldn’t bother most , and most would say...”you’re “
But for me, it is enough to bug me and my minds eye. But sort of the opposite that you stated. I recently, and in the past, have made changes to keep everything relatively the same, size-wise. Most recently I acquired a 42mm piece and the SD4K at the same time. Within a day the SD4K was sent back and bought the SD43. To address what you asked....I have the YG DD 40 as well, that overall is smaller than the other sport models I have, but the lug length is ok for me and the “loudness” so to speak, of the YG, gives the appearance...“to my minds eye” of a little bigger watch :) So it works for me...strange I know. To each their own...and whatever makes you happy, I always say |

I have a 16570 and 116610Lv and blue sky dweller. Sky d wears bigger obviously but it’s still 42 mm. The thickness is what is really such a strong contrast but it still doesn’t cause me to think “oh my this Watch is small” when switching to a 40mm watch from sky d and I certainly don’t think tbr sky d is a monstrosity when switching to it

I have had between 45mm and 39mm, you learn to adjust, esp if you don't change over during the day. One trick is put on the bigger/smaller watch the night before for an hour. Then next morning it will probably feel normal.

Hi,
The difference in size between the two is really minimal and I do not have any adjustment period at all. With a 7.5" wrist, I easily wear a 44mm Big Bang, Panerai Luminor and other assorted large dial watches with no issue. Two different pix to try and show them both at the same positioning. |

The skyD is a little larger, yes, but the 24hr ring takes up space, so it doesn’t seem big for no reason.
