Need Help Buying/Finding my First Rolex!

I am finally ready to pull the trigger and buy my first Rolex. A GMT 116710BLNR. Problem is, can't find one at any AD within 4 hrs of my home! I want to purchase a new one from an AD, but the shortage of new ones from Rolex has made it impossible to even get on a waiting list. Does anyone have any advice how to find one? I appreciate your help!

I’m in the exact same boat. Just today I got on my AD’s list as #8. He felt half the people on the list will have done something different by the time they get a call. They hoped a 3 month wait might be typical for me.

Congrats on making a decision. I'd continue to try with the ADs closest to you. My guess is if you're really committed to the BLNR (and it doesn't get discontinued) you should have a good shot at getting one in the near term after all this noise from Basel. If nothing gives after that, maybe consider calling some a little farther away -- you could use the watch as an excuse for a weekend getaway or daylong roadtrip.

I was actually just talking to my AD about that watch yesterday as I am considering an addition to my collection while I wait for the Daytona C. I was told I could have one within a month most likely based on recent supply trends.

Hi. No, Carmel, Indiana, not California. It's a suburb of Indianapolis.

This may sound a little extreme but try taking a vacation in Mexico!
I'm from the UK, but was in Mexico last summer. There didn't seem to be any issue getting just about any watch you wanted.
I even made a thread about it at the time as I was really shocked at the variaty of watches available with no wait lists.
They had virtually every SS sports model available inc. the BLNR.
Cheers.

How are trusted seller's prices here? Might be worth buying if 10% over retail or less. In UK they are 30% plus over.

I think I saw a post from someone earlier today claiming to have seen 3 SD43s available somewhere in Mexico. Seems Mexico might be the place to be for Rolex hunting!

I understand you want to purchase from an AD but you might consider looking into some of the trusted sellers here if you want one sooner rather than later.

Prices from the grey market are running 15-20% higher than MSRP in the U.S., at least for the BLNR. I have seen price as high as $11,000 for a "new" used BLNR from a trusted dealer. I may end up there, but am trying other avenues first.
