5711 crosses the $50K mark
I'm sure nobody is surprised, and this is probably old news to most, but this is the first time I've seen a 5711 cross the $50K mark from a legit trusted seller.
AFAIK, the rose gold 5711r is not that hard to get at list price from an AD at $51K. Very rarely does the spread in market price justify the premium for a precious metal variant. In this case, I think it is fair to say that there is more than a few thousand dollars worth of gold in the 5711r. It will be interesting to see what happens to 5711r prices. Judging from Chrono24, it has already moved around $10K higher than it was a few months ago. http://www.takuyawatches.com/product...-complete-set/ |

That +50K 5711 has been there already like a week. Previously those have been sold in a day I suppose. Paradigm shift experienced?

Sheer lunacy. I guess I could understand this had Patek announced they were discontinuing the 5711 and had no plans for a replacement. But they haven't. I have one, it's great but it's not $50K great. And Patek will keep making them (per year -- hundreds? thousands?) forever. What the heck is driving this madness? Why would you want a 5711 *that much*?

Lol...as much as I like 5711/1A, I would not pay over 20k for it.

Like it or not, this will be great news to most collectors who have bought this watch earlier. This just show that out there, are still many new collectors who are willing to pay for a watch which they highly covet. |

It is getting ridiculous these inflated prices, after all if nobody buys after a certain level of premium, it doesn't create a precedent and prices come down naturally

They never announce a "run-out" model after Baselworld, usually the list is sent to retailers few weeks before... so we should see 5726 until at least next year. Shaz _________________________ Instagram : @K2LUXURYWATCHES |

Yeah the secondary pricing is out of hand, however i don't fault Patek for increasing the retail prices to try to match what the market values them at... then of course the secondary prices go up again. So someone has to blink first or this is going to continue. I could see this back and forth going on for a while

Crazy prices, obviously at 50-53 there are many listed... who knows if they sold but for a little more you can get a 5711r. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

By increasing the retail price they triggered an avalanche ... all steel nautilus prices jumped on the "grey market"....

This truly is wild. So many opportunities for 50k. Agree with the masses that this is not one of them.

In terms of intrinsic value, horological worth, absolutely. If you have $50k to spend it goes a long way. In terms of the Hypebeast life, only a 5711 will do and so no consideration is given to what else one could buy. For me, I'm not sure even the new retail for a 5711 makes sense. $30k is also a lot of $$$ for this watch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Is this beyond the price of a new 5711R?

Does anyone else get the impression that the 5712/1A might also see a marked price increase on the secondary market under such conditions?

As PP didn't increase supply, or even indicate they would, greys are just passing this rise on so nothing has changed nor will it until demand really falls.
