Where will the crazy prices of the old Pepsi go now?

I expect a significant price dip in the preowned 5 digit Pepsi in light of the new release.
What do you guys think?

No one knows. I’d guess they will go up (the old ones). Rolex has revalidated an icon. There is only one original.

to me the new one is the perfect pepsi! the size and ceramic bezel however, I do agree that there's only one pepsi but I'd as well expect a drop in price.

Highly doubt it and wouldn’t count on it.

16710 will only go up. Rolex will hold back supply on new SS Pepsi. Demand on 5 digits will go up as they'll ride enthusiasm wave. Similar phenomenon to ceramic daytona release.

116520 prices are way up.

I’m guessing up even more. Look what the 116500 did to the 16520.

I think pricing will ease up a bit once they’re out in the swing of things.

the old pepsi is a classic, has its own identity and the new one is completely different.

Old ones will still be in high demand.

Here is your answer. We have proof with the 116520 they are up 30% since the release of the 116500. I expect the 16710 to follow suit and increase as well. Keep in mind there’s a large group of people who prefer the aluminum bezel and older design to the ceramic. Also the ability to swap bezels is a huge plus. And you know what they say... they’re not making any more of them so....

There are many reasons the 5 digit references are special...

The BLRO bezel I doubt is much cheaper for Rolex to make now than it was the last 5 years or so in the WG model. Makes me think this new SS BLRO is more a marketing tool to drive interest to the rest of the range a la Daytona SS.

1. Drive hype (just like SS Daytona, SS Skydweller) to the new model design for Year 1 with BLRO SS.

2. Then release Coke in SS and LN with Red GMT Hand in year 2 or 3 for more easily accessible references.

3. Use the existing LN, BLNR, and new WG blue dial BLRO as an outlet for the remaining 3286 movements in the meanwhile.

So, no I think Pepsi prices are here to stay for the 5 digit. More compelling question, is what will happen to the black dial WG BLRO from prior years in its value.

Up, up, up.

Sadly. I can't stomach $10k for one in decent shape.

I think the oppositte. Nobody will be able to get this new gmt. Hype creates new buyers. I do think a lot of suspect condition 16710 and 1675 are way overpriced but quality examples like the ones springer sells....those will keep going ^ ^ ^

Exactly what I was going to say.

Not like the new one will be readily available and sitting in the display box to pick and choose from.

I personally think the older version will stall for a while or go down slightly. You will always have for old school die hards that dont like the 6 digit cases. I think the New model will be hot for a few years before that starts to dissipate.

One of the great fallacies of man is thinking things will always continue on there current trajectory. Happens all the time in business/stock market. It's always painful for those without foresight.

People said the same about the 116520 and the 16610LV when they had 'replacements'.... Look what happened there

OP is asking about this particular releases impact though...I agree an overall change in the market could take everything down but this release I believe will only be positive.

New pepsi with 5yrs waiting list or u can get it by paying premium. My guess is US$15k for new pepsi. Old pepsi will be in demand due to these factors.

The colors on the ceramic are still dusty, pale and wrong. Pastel Pepsi. Have to see it in person. Live photos show the colors washed out vs. the doctored ones on Rollie's website. The jub is great though as is the new movement.

I see the 16710 going to 10k plus, like the Kermit, Bob's already has them at that price.....
