It's Service Time for my 16610

Hi all,

Did a little research here before posting but wanted to get some specific information if out there regarding my W-serial 16610.
I bought my Sub used 6 years ago off the forum, so pretty safe to say that she's a keeper. If at all possible, I'd like a full service retaining as many original pieces of the watch as possible (ie., bezel, crystal, dial & hands), knowing that there are dents to the bezel, small nicks on the crystal and a touch of lume missing from the minutes hand.
I'm aware of the two options: RSC vs. an independent, and that RSC will most likely require certain pieces switched out and will keep the old pieces. That being said, I'd like to avoid this if at all possible and therefore would prefer sending the watch to an independent watch maker, who'd be willing to send the old pieces back.
Can anyone personally speak to their experiences with an independent in Canada who has a parts account and provide some contacts? I scoured the sticky on the subject, but no one independent jumped out at me.
I'd also be interested in hearing about experiences in which your watch was sent to RSC and you were pleased with and did not regret the watch having new parts swapped out (or if you completely regretted the decision).
I know this is a lot to ask and that this information is probably embedded through the forum threads, but if anyone cares to contribute, that would be great.

Thanks!

I don't know anyone in Canada, but I'm a independent who does wholesale work for 10-15 jewelry stores as well as some retail customers. A LOT of people have told me bad stories about RSC(and other brands service divisions) keeping materials they wanted. Or were quoted an all or nothing price, when they only wanted a movement service. I tailor my service to the needs/wants of the customer FIRST. With disclaimers on what is not included when they opt out of specific items and services. They leave me much happier. The important thing is finding a shop with a solid reputation and one you can hopefully speak to the person actually doing the work on the watch.
