From Vintage to WOW

Finally get to post a "well look what happened on the way to the AD" story!

After many years with my 14060M i decided it was time to try something new so it went up for sale and found a new home. I've spent days trying to figure out what's next and nothing really stood out to me when compared to the crisp two liner sub. It's the quintessential everyday watch. Sometimes less is more!

With the SS shortage everywhere I knew even trying an AD would be futile. Out of the three main AD's all had the air king and milgauss but it didn't really sing to me. Asking for a sub or GMT almost got me laughed at in one of them. I was told they've seen two in the last two months. This is all in Scottsdale btw...

After almost getting laughed at asking for a GMT (and an aquanaut) and being told having established history would help I booked it over to a lunch spot and decided to try an AD that I knew had subs in the past couple months.
Sure enough nothing in the display counter and after telling my sub (sob) story of selling my 14060 the sales associate whispers "I have a no date sub in the back"

She brings it out and I try it on and after the puppy dog eyes I gave the wife I can now rest with the new No Date on my wrist! Considering they had preowned subs on straps going for over $7K I'm thrilled to have snagged this!

Now I know what my wife goes through with her Birkin hunts!!!!
Thanks for letting me share!

Now on to finding an aquanaut!!!

I’m looking at 2-liner ($6200 in great condition from AD with 2 year Warranty) and they also have a 114060 in stock. Can’t make up my mind. Seem like you are happy to have made the switch. Does it wear or feel noticeably bigger? Anything you miss about your old friend? I love the 2-line look but that new bracelet looks pretty killer.

I love the 2 liners and having the holes was def a plus but having the newer ceramic bezel, glide lock and 5 year warranty for me really made the difference. normally I wore the 14060 on a nato so it's a little heavier and bigger but would I go back to the two liner after this? Honestly no. I'll always have a place for it in my heart but considering the price moves I'm happy with the new piece.

I say go for the newer 114060. Dollar to dollar it's a better wear. YMMV

I had a 2 liner 14060m for about 4 years, and have had my 114060 for about 3 years. The sub was awesome, but the subC is much nicer, especially the case and bracelet, not to mention the bezel and maxi dial. It wears larger but is equally as well balanced and comfortable. I don't miss the 2 liner other than had I held onto it, I could have sold it for more than I did.

Its funny you say this because that was my very issue. I go the 14060M for a song years ago and since I didn't need the bracelet that reduced my overall investment into greatly - we are talking ~3K. Which for a sub is a pipe dream nowadays.

The market has such pent up demand that it worked out for me in the long run but the ever increasing prices and shortages made moving to the 114060 the smart move for me - since I'll keep it for ages.
