Help!! 312 or 1312?
I was seeing the Due models in the window of a Panerai dealer and they did not convince me. I'm going to decide on the other model that I liked 1312.
Maybe look for some used model but I want to ask you guys what are the differences between model 312 and 1312. Thank you very much. |

The 1312 is thinner with smaller lugs and blue second hand and of course the different movement. The prices for preowned between the two is very close so I went with the 1312 and glad I did for the thinner case. If you are patient you can get a preowned one for $5200 and a new one from a trusted seller for $6k There is one for sale right now for $5200 from 2017 .
automatic (Cal. P. 9010), blued small second-hand, date, display back, 72-hour power reserve, WR 300m, Width: 44 mm / Height: 53.5 mm / Thickness: 15.5 mm / Lug Width: 24 mm The 312 automatic (P.9000 Calibre (in-house)), date, small seconds @ 9', display back, 72-hour power reserve, Ref. PAM 312, Width: 44 mm / Height: 54 mm / Thickness: 18 mm / Lug Width: 24 mm |

I prefer the dial of the 312, but the thinner case (and movement) of the 1312 is better. I wish they’d have left the older dial on this improved version.

You should really try both of them on to get a feel for them to be honest. I have have a 312 personally and love it. However I do love the new slim version of the 1950's case as compared to mine because it does ride higher on the wrist.
I am not a fan of the blue accent hand and the word automatic on the dial on the 1312. If they made everything like the 312 except for the case of the 1312 then i would be all over that. |

Same here. Love my 328. Also not a big fan of the faux patina, though admittedly I’ve never seen the 1312 in person.

I like both the 312 and the 1312 but would pick the 1312 for the case design if I was buying. I am waiting on a 1389 after passing on a 389 as I prefer the thinner case, flatter back and the blue on the second hand.

I love my 1312! The little splash of blue gives it just the right amount of color.

I went with the 1312. I know that the case height doesn’t differ by much on paper. But in the metal, it does wear slimmer and goes under the cuff of my shirt a lot easier.

The 312 is where it's at. Cleaner dial, no blue seconds hand, beefy case, and bright green Panerai lume. The original trumps the new all day.

I honestly don’t think you can make a mistake, although when in doubt go old school
