Older 16710 Pepsi or new Tudor GMT!

I currently have a DJ41, which I love, however, I'm looking to add a sports watch to my collection. I really love the GMT Pepsi, but I'm not a fan of the jubilee bracelet. Looking to get one of the older models (the 16710 from 1990's). The new Tudor GMT has caught my eye though, and I kind of like the idea of getting a brand new watch for half the price. Any thoughts on whether to get a used 16710 Pepsi, or a new Tudor GMT?

It'll be awhile before the Tudor is out and available. Why not look for a decent deal on a 16710 in the meanwhile?

I think the Tudor Pepsi is beautiful. It actually has a vintage look to it as well. I am seriously
thinking about getting one. I wonder how difficult it will be to get.

Prefer Rolex but would go with the Tudor here. Less questions about provenance, servicing, etc.., your Tudor new and out of the box, with warranty. Reasonable classic design and look. First of its kind, likely to be a future collectable with some appreciation as Rolex moves upstream and Tudor ends up replacing it at the current Rolex price points.

If you can swing it, 16710 because you can get it now and is a classic and collectable. Who knows when the new Tudor GMT will come out and how available they might be. Plus, you will likely want to see it in real life first before you buy.

There is even a question in deciding between the two?! 16710, of course.

And don't forget the other , I mean a 16700 by the way . Often in the shadow of the more popular 16710 ,but no less of a fantastic watch at often less money than a 16710 .

16710s were being made into the late 00s btw and likely to be in better condition than 90s ones, with working lume, solid end link and no holes case. The Tudor is cool but a minty 16710 if you can swing it. ASAP.

Big price difference between the two. If that’s not an issue then the 16710 all day.

How anyone could conclude Tudor is a comparable in any way is beyond peculiar. The goofy hour hand alone is a huge turn off. Just go w a Tag and call it a day.

Not even reading other replies. Can assume the responses. For fun, make it a vote. Curious if it would go over 98%/02%

The one thing I feel the Tudor has in its favor is the price. However, that price advantage comes with a bunch of compromises, none of which I could live with. Colors are off vs the 16710 BLRO, the hands are goofy (never liked the snowflake style), bezel font is not my cup of tea, don’t like the lack of a crown guard, and the list goes on. All personal preferences though so if those things don’t bother you then the Tudor is an interesting option. For me there is no substitute: Rolex 16710 all the way.

The new Tudor Pepsi is intriguing and on my radar if the new SS Pepsi wait becomes (already perhaps?) ridiculous. But the 16710 GMT really is a beauty and a classic, so my vote would go there. Good luck and shop carefully, no rush in looking for the right one. Heck, I want a nice 16710 too! Cheers!

Isn't the OP saying that the price is an issue/consideration?
