Double SS Ceramic Daytona Incoming

Sorry in advance for the lengthy post !

This is a follow up from my previous thread asking the forum’s opinion.

https://www.rolexforums.com/showthre...ong+dial+Louis

Was offered the black dial SS Ceramic Daytona 2 years after being the first on the “list” for a white dial. Well, since I’m no VIP, decided that if I let this one go I may never get another call and may miss the boat. The big reason I got the opportunity was I was the very first to call, email and text the AD and some persistence. Still, it took 2 years, so like others have said, I think a “list” is imaginary at a vast majority of ADs. The white dial was the one I really wanted.

Was going to pick up the black dial with the intention of if I fell in love with it, I’d keep it, otherwise can use it as a bargaining chip to get my grail, the white dial SS Ceramic. The black dial was fabulous in person!! No regrets!! However , I thought I would be settling. After much back and forth, decided I wouldn’t flip/ trade the black dial. I promised the AD I wouldn’t flip it, plus it was gorgeous, but I wanted the white a “little” more.

I decided YOLO, I was celebrating a few life milestones and decided to really go all out. I made a phone call and within a couple of days had a brand new stickered (warranty card not named so have my name on it now !) white dial beauty. Realistically I would not be able to get another one at MSRP so I am content with my decision. Both watches are gorgeous in person ! On to the pics !!

Gonna have to eat my words. And apologize. In your previous thread I stated that if you turned down the black you would never get the white. So you got a black then about a month later got a call for the white?

Were these both at MSRP? At a premium is the only way I can fathom this in today's climate. If at MSRP then you need to get a scratch ticket asap.

Not being a VIP I have no idea how you pulled this off. Unheard of.

Huge congratulations though.

The black dial was at MSRP from my AD I have purchased 2 prior Rolex watches. The white dial was from a TRF TS. Made the decision after facing reality that I would not get a white one at MSRP because I was now off the "list" after getting the black. At this point, if one is not on a list or not a VIP, MSRP is just not gonna happen unless you are super lucky. If I turned the black one down, I had the feeling that I would not get another call so had to move on it and I'm glad I did. No regrets either way !!

Nice ! Will you be taking the stickers off of the black dialed one now, or is it going in the back of the safe ?

Stickers likely coming off in the next little while ! I’m not one to store a watch for “ investment”.
