The long awaited Explorer

After a long wait. I finally have my hands on my very own Explorer.

The journey started last year when I was consolidating my pieces into one, and after a long search decided on the Explorer. Finally sold all my pieces, added some money and was ready for a purchase in Janurary.. But life happened, and I was hit by a rather large expense, so the Explorer took a back seat.. Fast forward to May, I am ready again, but there isn't a SINGLE Explorer at any of the ADs close to me.. That changed last week, when my AD called me with an incoming. And here I am today wearing it.. I love this piece, and hope that I will see many good days with it.. This is not a glamorous watch when compared to others, but it is mine, and I love it!

Here's a crappy wrist shot.

I guess you will have to change your "none at the moment" watch section. Congratulations

It's a beautiful Rolex as all of them are, great choice, and looks great on your wrist. Congratulations!

Great piece. Did you get it from an AD in the Cleveland area?

That looks great on your wrist. I'm often surprised by how much wrist size has to do with how a watch works for someone or doesn't. Contratulations

Congratulations. Don't shoot yourself in the foot. It is a very elegant watch. Not to many people can by any Rolex. We just think Rolexes are plentiful because we are on this site or surround are selves with those who adorn them, but if you look around hard enough you really won't find that many. It is an honor to be able to grace your arm with such a fine time piece. Im sure that watch compliments you beautifully.
Keep rocking it. Glad everything worked out for you.

Great choice for a one and only Rolex! For a non-date one-Rolex collection, the Explorer, black dial OP, and non-date Sub are all great choices!

And if you decide to move in a different direction later, it should have held its value well enough.

I have my next two purchases planned. Lol. But nothing soon.

So far, planning to add:
- Speedy
- JLC MUT moonphase

And maaaaybe a Blackbay 58 if it doesn’t wear as blocky as the ETA version.

But all those will be in the FAR future, nothing before 2 years (lots of expenses in the next two years. All very good. We are so lucky)

Nice other choices!

Blackbay 58 would be nice. Although I didn't find the ETA version blocky when I tried it on.

I owned it for two years. Amazing watch. But honestly couldn’t wear it with a dress shirt. My wrists are 6.75” but I swear they feel smaller.

Amazing watch, and miss it every day. Just too much wrist presence for me..

Ah, you owned it and didn't care for it. Okay. Makes sense. I think the 58 will be great!

Congrats! Doesn’t matter the size of the collection or the value! It’s what that watch means to you every time you put it on your wrist. That’s the true feeing money cannot buy. Congrats and enjoy it!!!

It's really one of the best choices. Sporty and dressy at the same time. Congrats!
