Will the Hulk stand the test of Time?
Just wanted to ask your opinions and thoughts about the Rolex Submariner Ref. 116610LV "The Hulk".....Do you think the Green will stand the test of time? Or will the classic Black Submariner 116610LN be more more desirable in the future?

It would take stupid money to get my Hulk away from me.

I have more precious pieces, but somehow the Hulk gets the most wrist time for me. Let me state my reasons:
1) The green bezel and dial are addicting. It's just the right amount of "bling." The colors adapt very well to lighting conditions. 2) The Glidelock clasp is very comfortable. 3) The bracelet is all brushed, no worries of scratching it. In short, the Hulk is rugged and tasteful at the same time. It may not be for everyone, but it is definitely a special piece for me. |

Its not for me personally but I can see why others love it, and because of this I think it will stand the test of time

Simply stated, the Hulk is one of the greatest Rolex watches ever.

I'm sure it will always go for a premium, but I think the vast majority of people will prefer the regular/black dial sub, like it's been forever.

Yea. It has all the traits of what it takes to be a blue chip Rolex in the future.

You realize it's been out for nearly what, ten years or damn close? Seems hotter than ever. That's doesn't happen often.

Definitely Hulk is the way to go. First Rolex to have both green bezel and green dial.
If you want another Sub, try the black Ni date version. Both can co-exist and will not be deemed as redundant.

when rolex offers the new 72hr power reserves like the daytona and new gmt’s in the subs the old faithful 3135 48 hr power reserve model will skyrocket especially the sublv

I LVc will stand the test of time because it is Rolex hallmark color. I think black or green in a Rolex are safe.

Personally the hulk never appealed to me. Don’t like the 6 digit subs or the green on green. Now the Kermit, that’s a different story especially the first year with that lime green bezel.

I think it will definitely stand the test of time although I do also think that if this supply issue ever gets back to normal there will be a lot more popping up on the used market from people who bought it just because they were difficult to get. In the past I think the green was very polarising. Some loved it and some didn't thinking it was too green etc.
I suspect that a lot of people will have bought it in the current climate but won't want to keep it once they can get other watches they really desire much easier (if it ever gets back to that) In saying that I don't think that is going to affect it's long-term value or desirability as it is made in much less volume than the black one. For that reason alone it will always be wanted and thus hold value.

I’m sure it will stand the test of time as many TRFers love their Hulks. However, it wouldn’t for me...I’ve seen a few in person and it just doesn’t sing to me.

I think it will always be collectible, aesthetically probably black or blue versions are going to win in the long run.

The black will always be the classic Sub look however the LVC already has stood the test of time and don't see that ever changing.
