Another AD bites the dust - Tallahassee

Was in Tallahassee, FL last week and went by The Gem Collection, the local Rolex AD. Asked if they had any pre-owned Submariners and the salesperson said no. So, I asked to see what new Rolex watches they had.

They only had three Datejusts. A 31, 34 and 36 mm with a sign that said 20% off.

During our conversation I was told they would no longer be selling Rolex.

"Can't get enough stock?" I asked. "No, the decision was made by Rolex," I was told.

I've been in The Gem Collection a few times before and always enjoyed looking at and talking Rolex. Gonna miss'em.

It’s tough to see the smaller ADS struggle and go

Well, they weren't struggling. The salesperson said they did a pretty good business with Rolex, but . . . Rolex pulled the plug.

With the grey scalping at an all time high I doubt being an ad is very valuable.

Closing doors is a central theme of Rolex limiting distribution.

Expect to see more of this

Just walked by the location of what used to be the closet Rolex AD to me yesterday. I think they lost Rolex a couple of years back and now they closed the location altogether.

Rolex kills another local brick and morter, Mom and Pop shop.

Great company we all support.

Two more are gone here in NJ also. Sherman and Sons and Roman jewelers.
