Tudor Black Bay 58, GMT or Pelagos

Hello guys,

Looking new purchase. For few months winner was Pelagos, but now those GMT's and 58's started come out so i started to hesitate. I love Pelagos simplicity and toolness. But in the other hand, gmt and 58 have timeless design.
Please tell me what are the cons and pros of each model and help me decide!

Thank you guys, and have a nice sunday! :)

I’m a big fan of the GMT complication. I travel a lot and it comes in handy. The chamfered lugs add a nice touch too. The aluminum bezel should also develop a nice patina, much like the older Rolex with aluminum bezels. Not entirely sure how that patina will look with a dial/hands that will not patina.

Interestingly I'm in the same boat with Tudor. I've never owned one and I thought a blue Pelgos on the rubber strap would be a perfect summer watch (and to be the diver in my collection). However I am loving the new Pepsi GMT and even more blown away with the BB58. I am still leaning towards the Pelagos because I like the rubber strap option, but that BB58 looks so good on the leather strap.

Sorry, not a lot of help here. Hopefully some other members will post some pictures. I find that really helps.

Don't like the case proportions on the Pelagos and GMT (too chunky). 58 would be my choice.

I like Pelagos...nothing else like it. Unmistakable design, and a very tool like look and feel

All three are incredible. I’d say value for the money might tip in favor of the pelagos but all three are amazing. It really depends what is important to you. Wearability and vintage, the 58. Complications and color, the GMT. Utilitarian, the Pelagos.

Well that's a difficult choice...unless, of course, you've already made it, since this thread started in June.

I haven't had the pleasure of seeing the 58 in the flesh yet, however, the Pelagos and GMT are two of my favorites. Seeing how I always give the advice to get the most expensive watch when torn, I would give the nod to the GMT (if you can get your hands on one), and then pick up the Pelagos down the road.

Or...work the same logic in reverse:if you can't get the GMT right now, get the Pelagos and then wait for your ship to come in with the GMT.

Both great watches, you literally can't go wrong with either...good luck!

P.S. If you've made your choice, post a pic or two.

I prefer the 58. It is very unique from the rest while I prefer other options for a GMT and not too fond of the Pelagos.

Agreed. Though, if the GMT came in the 58 case....

I have a Black Bay Red. It is a bit chunky (especially on my 6.5in wrist). When I got it, there was no 58 (would get that now).
However, I'm still in love with it and never plan on getting rid of it

The GMT has the same dimensions as the older BB and imo the case is too thick. The 58 would be my choice based off of the size and style. They fit great. You can wear it with a suit and also wear it to the beach.

Three different sizes, with the Pelagos being the largest and 58 the smallest. What is your wrist size?

I prefer the GMT function, and prefer the size over the other two. Love the 58, but too small for my 7.25" wrist.

I LOVE the Pelagos except for the fact it is too big for my 6.8" wrist. I've owned two of them.

If they drop a 12.5mm thick version and/or 40mm I'm throwing cash at it immediately.

That said, I'd buy the BB58 - which I would have if i didn't have my 14060M as they are too damn similar in size and role in my collection.

I’ve tried on a Pelagos a while ago and it was too bulky. It reminds me of JC DSSD.
I heard the GMT is the same size as Pelagos so I would go for BB58

I think the GMT is 41mm and the Pelagos is 42mm. Thickness is virtually identical if I'm remembering right.

I had a Tudor Blaack Bay noir......But sold it.....long case length, flat slab sides and bottom, uncomfortable for me.

I would get the GMT, it's the first Tudor with this complication, it might turn out to be a classic.
Plus an extra complication is always welcome, you never know when you are going to need it.

Just tried on Pelagos blue for first time today at my AD. Went in to look for SS sports Rolex and ended up trying the Pelagos just because they had one in the window. Blown away at how awesome that watch is in every way including the amazing color of that blue. So many things to live about this watch for less than $5k.

Here us the Pelagos next to my SD43

And in the window
