I'm getting off the Daytona 500 list, and I'm next...
Title sums it up.
I'm not flipping for a profit. Hope a fellow WIS will pick it up and enjoy it. cheers Edit due to many inboxes: I doubt I can tell my AD who to give it instead of me. I expect he will simply give it to next in line.

Very kind of you to pass on your place rather than flipping it for profit. Hope it goes to someone that will love it.

Do you not like it? If so then easy choice. But if you are interested at all I wouldn’t be passing.

Maybe someone else in the forum really wants it and you can pass along the place? Is that possible?

I'd do it. Doubt my AD will though. I'll ask!

Just buy it and then sell it to a WIS for MSRP, then you will have peace of mind knowing the watch went to a good place.

I would purchase it and sell it with a markup - it is your right to ride on the market value

Good for you. Flipping is for pancakes, not watches. Hopefully a true enthusiast gets it and not a profiteer.
I can fully relate to the frustration of a long wait, although I'd probably stick it out if my AD said I were next. |

If not wouldn't the 500 help in that process? Would you accept more than retail for your hulk? Obviously if you feel like you are doing the community a disservice by using your spot then you shouldn't but that spot has a value and using that in the journey towards the 5711 is different (in my eyes) than getting on 400 lists and selling the watches once your spot comes up. Good luck and wear the 5711 in good health and prosperity.

IMO you'd be crazy to pass. Take it and either pass to a WIS of your choosing, or flip it for a profit. If you take the latter - you'll cancel out most of the grey market premium on a 5711 white, which you'll have a very tough time getting from an AD, much like your experience with the 5712. I don't normally advocate pure flipping, but when you want to get a piece that is nearly unobtainable and has a hefty premium, it makes sense to cancel it out if you can.
EDIT: At the very least, give it a try. It is definitely a favourite of mine and a good pairing with the Aquanaut/Nautilus IMO. |

I’d buy it and pass it on to another WIS that can’t get one... at least it’s gone to a good home...

Ahhhhh This would be cool Does the forum allow that? Imagine that! That would be a game changer. Specially for those members that are really against flippers... They could post a watch, give the profit to charity, help the world, and in a way, kind of fight the flippers. Not a bad idea Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The next one in line will flip it hahaha. I say 80% on waitlist have no intention of keeping it.
If it wasn’t going for 18k most people wouldn’t even dare put their name on the list. |

Do whatever your heart tells you and whatever you're comfortable with.
That said, this has come up before and it can get heated. But I am of the mind that you don't know who the next up in line is. It could very well be a re-seller. If you wanted to help out a fellow WIS, I'd buy it, check the WTB section here, have a quick phone chat with the member looking to buy to make sure they're a real enthusiast (and not a reseller), and sell it to the person of your choosing. I know there's some time and effort involved in that, but if i wanted to make sure it ended up in the hands of a WIS, that's the route I'd take. Obviously charge for a fully insured package and all that. Or find someone local and do a F2F. Alternatively, You could buy it, sell it for the going market price and donate the profits to a charity of your choosing. OR like I said, just sit back on your couch and pass lol. Nothing wrong with that either, but just know the next up on line might not be the enthousiast you expect. |
