My SD43 is a daily option

I've had my SD43 for a few months and it's taken up the majority of my wrist time since then.

The watch is a very well-proportioned, good-looking dive watch that feels as robust as it looks. Key things I like best:

1) Versatility - I wear it with and think it looks good with everything from a suit to shorts.

2) Great timekeeping. Generally about -1 sec/day using WatchCheck. I've done this a few times with similar results over a few weeks at a time just for the fun of it...yes, I'm a nerd like that. Within COSC timing would be more than sufficient, but it is nice to see the 3235 movement operating within the +/- 2 sec/day Superlative Chronometer standards Rolex advertises.

3) That dial. Does it ever change with different light conditions! And summer definitely brings out the best in this respect.

Here are a few pictures I've taken over the past week or so. They still don't capture it as well as in person but they're the best I could do with my phone.

Enjoy!!

It’s a real beauty, good to see you’re enjoying it.

It’s my favorite Rolex diver too

Brian, I probably look like I've got OCD to people for how often I look at the time!

Thanks! It's about 7 inches...with the heat probably slightly larger these days.

I find I miss it more than I thought I would when rotating.

Those sunlight photos are beautiful. Really shows off the matte dial.

Beautiful watch. I am still keeping it in the box, worrying that once I start to wear it, I won’t be wanting to wear anything else. Kinda like saving the best for the last. The dial, the red, the large bezel, minute makers all around ... one sweet combination.

Life is too short. Wear it and enjoy the honeymoon, in time you'll want to enjoy the others as well. You're fortunate to have a collection, celebrate it.

I have owned a SD43 for over a year and find it to be the ultimate Rolex Diver. I like the size, bezel, dial, red text and even the cyclops. It could be a one and only.

I feel the same way, know exactly what you mean. My DJII just doesn't have the same wow factor.

I feel the same way, my SD43 has been my daily since I picked it up a few months ago. I don’t have a Rolex collection yet but I love strapping this thing on my wrist every morning, far better than the Sub I had prior. To me it’s the perfect Rolex diver and I couldn’t be happier with it...it feels very special as well with the 50th anniversary.

lovely watch

how thin is it ?
and how heavy is it (can you compare to any other Rolex watches, e.g. sub, explorer II 42, DJ, etc.)
