What is the waiting time for a 5711 at your AD?

So i went to my AD last week, where i've already purchased two Pateks (5711 (blue dial) & 5167) and asked for another 5711 (White dial). He told me that i have to wait 15 years. that is just ridiculous.

what would you do?

you may not get one. These days its not unheard of for AD's or the distributor to deny requests for a repeat purchase of the same reference. different color or not.

The waiting time for a 5711 blue at my AD is an abstract concept. It's broadly measurable by how many unpopular watches I purchased from them. The white is easier to get but certain sacrifices are required too.

They stopped taking orders at some of the AD’s in the US. So no real quote. My AD breaks it down by spend at AD, and if prior Patek customer. This is the difference between 100 th place in the national chain vs. top 5 or 10 on the list.

15 years... I think I’d rather they just tell me they aren’t taking names on the list.

The math on the 15 years is probably as follows. They get 2-3 a year and have 30-45 people on the list : )

I have a $3000 deposit on my 5711 blue and I am told that it will be a 12-16 month wait for me; and I've bought 3 Pateks in the past 2 years... (5130R, 5711R, 5153R)

The 5711 waitlist isn’t a thing. I thought we all knew this. It’s a token kept in the safe to incentivize spending. The level of spending required has been on an upward slope the past 24 months.

Unfortunate as it is that might be part of the reason. You have had a 5711 previously and sold it - depending on the period of ownership this will make getting another very difficult. 5711’s are still available to order within a reasonable period - I term this as less than 12 months in the current market.

This will depend on your AD, from my experience there is always a list and depending who you are as to where on the list you start.

I would agree it’s different for everyone but by and large average joe isn’t getting on the list in 2018. Two years ago of course not a problem.

It all depends on the relationship with the AD. As Russell mentioned above those watches are available within a reasonable time period. After seeing Tyler's and few other photos of 5711 white I asked my AD whether I could get one. I was included in their "closed" list. Recently I asked them the time frame for delivery and I was shocked when I was told I would get the next 5711 white as I knew few other people were waiting. During the same conversation I mentioned that I liked the new blue dial and when I got home I got a call saying I would get the 5711 blue some time next year.

What, if any, has everyone’s experience been regarding the wait time for the 5711R? I thought it would be easier to locate a full gold piece, due to the price and people’s preference for the steel version of this model, but so far that hasn’t been the case. There is only one AD near me, a small non-chain shop that said they could “probably get me one within a year.” Other AD’s at locations I travel to frequently (NY, Vegas, Philadelphia, Austin) have basically just given me a flat No.

Luckily for me, I lucked out and happened upon an AD with a 5167a in August of last year, so that has kept the Patek itch at bay for the time being!

I got mine about two and half years apart. White first, then blue. When I picked up the second one the evening before the dreaded price increase my AD just asked me that if I ever "needed" to part with them I would use them, which I thought was fair.

I have and will always show loyalty to this particular sales person, and when something else strikes me he is the only one I will contact.

The owners of the AD approve the allocation. There isn't really a list but they only get a few a year. If you are a first time customer...good luck

Wait times will be longer now for the RG, the premium here is 30%, and the 5711 is now over 100% at WF.

so you already got a 5711 from them that you flipped, and a 5167, and want now another 5711?

2 years ago the Paris salon didn't take names from first time clients even for a 5712, hence why I went to Switzerland to get one

15 years is such an egregious response! Should tell the SA that he’s in the wrong field, because if he can predict so accurately that far into the future he should just play the lottery
