What is a fair asking price?

I have a "Stick dial" Rolex. It has no holes.

I've owned this watch since it was new - I have the box, papers and everything the watch ever came with.

There seems to be such a range for these watches ($9500 - $14000)

With such a gap in price, I'm curious what a realistic asking price is for a watch like this?

Why not put it up for sale and find out yourself?

Since you have no references, people will probably offer you 8K. And then you might be lucky someone offering you 20K with no references.

It doesn't matter if you're the first person. The question is...who is going to trust you to send 9K? Not too many people in this world....

And you'll be stressing out if the buyer claims you sent an empty box :) . And the drama and stress begins because you'll be responsible to make sure it gets deliver as you'll need to cover insurance for any issues.

I was thinking of putting it up for sale on ebay (feedback is 100+ all positive) or chrono24. I realize I have no references here.

I have heard too many horror stories on chrono24 and ebay. Since you have eBay, you should know they honor buyer...and not seller. You just hope the buyer doesn't pull a scammer on you.

Anyhow, good luck. Selling high dollar volume is stressful when something goes wrong.

I agree.. I have a friend who is a dealer, he's making me a decent offer but of course he has to make money too. I'm just concerned I'm leaving too much on the table.

Then there's also the debate on the "stick/error" dial adding value. Some say it does, others say it does not.

Examine sold listings on various websites, take into account the condition of yours and arrive at a price.
