Oysterflex on BLNR

Finally got the OF on the BLNR. I tried on many PM Daytona’s and really liked the comfort of the Oysterflex band. My goal is to put the OF on a white 116500 so while I wait for the watch, I’d thought I put it on my BLNR for the time being and enjoy it.

I want to thank Chadri for the inspiration and George at Smartyenlinks for answering all my questions. The endlinks were made for the BLNR and I have to say that it looks like it came from Rolex with the fit and quality. It’s a really good set-up.

The OF if you can find it from an AD is about 280 a side and the end links are 80.

PN for E-E and E-F bands: You are going to have to source your OF bands

This is so cool. Was interested in doing something like this but two ADs in my area said they would not order the oysterflex bands, that Rolex would only exchange them (you need to send in yours before they will send you a different size).

Not familiar with how end links work. Can you elaborate?

Two questions:

1) What tools do you need to do this?

2) Do you transfer the clasp from your Oyster bracelet to the OysterFlex or is it included?

I am semi-patiently waiting for my SS Daytona to come in and thought I'd do the same thing to further distinguish it from my other Daytona.

Not for me. I think it cheapens the look on an otherwise great watch

Looks like a Tag

That's pretty pricey! Any comparison to the Everest band? I think that's about 240 for both sides, and it uses the original clasp. Not sure about using the metal endlinks with it, though.

The look is not for everyone but I’m going for the comfort level and I would have to say the watch looks more like the following:

Full disclosure, I own a Tag Heuer and this watch looks nothing like my Tag. The OF Band tones the PCL and makes the BLNR less flashy. I've worn the watch for over 3 years so it's a good change and I understand where you are coming from when you see a rubber strap on a watch. Psychologically it's hard for me to pull the trigger on a $28.8K watch with a rubber strap but I've been reminded by many that it's a titanium band covered with rubber. If the OF is good enough for the PM models: YM and Daytona, it's good enough for me and it really is comfortable on the wrist.

You need a spring bar remover and a screwdriver.

You have to use your existing Easyglide clasp. Since these bands are made by Rolex, it is a perfect factory fit.

Thanks for confirming that.

I think I like the idea of it more on a Daytona, because Rolex makes some that way. So it looks more "OEM" to me, even though they don't offer the SS Daytonas with OF. But yours looks nice too, and is a nice change of pace.

End links fill the gap from your band/spring bar to the case of the watch so there is no space. Take a look at the OF YM, it does not have end links and there is a gap by the edge of the OF Band.

Props for getting OF on your BLNR but I think I prefer the blue EVerest band on the BLNR.
