This thing is loud!

So a day into having the Panny strapped on... sitting at my desk reading and my watch is say, six or seven inches from my ear, maybe more and I can hear the beast ticking away. I guess thats what you get for having a watch with a pocketwatch movement inside it.

Daren, have you noticed the display backs are louder than the solid backs?
Or is this just me ?

But what if you're on a secret mission? You've just emerged from the water, to sneak up on a sentry and then ....... tick, tick, tick, tick, tick. The enemy, alarmed by the loud ticking sound, turns around and empties his AK-47 clip into your wildly shuttering body. How cool is that?

Thats because S.steel has a higher noise resistance than the sapphire glass.

Plus the "chick dig it"
Picture this, your at sitting with a lovely lady, she asks "What's that ticking sound?"
You can reply
"My dear, that is the sound of 21,800 miniature vibrations in my watch"
"OH, REALLY, Do you mind If I "try it on""

Hey now, Rolex makes about a million watches a year. Panerai only makes about 35,000.

You guys just dont realize the allure of a big, bold Eye-talian watch.

Are you accusing me of the possession and use of illicit drugs, Sir? I do hope you have any legal evidence to back this heinous accusation. Legal evidence is not the ‘plant’ you slipped in my pocket!

Actually, in my years of lurking on Panny sites, I am amazed at how many stories I have read about Paneristis having people (usually who know nothing about watches) stop and ask them or comment on their watch.

I 3.5 years of wearing a Rolex pretty much 24-7-365, I have had two unsolicited comments, both from what turned out to be WIS. We shall see what spell the 01 puts on people here.
