16610LV Prices UK

I've been wanting one of these for a while as I remember them coming out when I was a lowly student, I just can't get over the prices now! I want a decent one but I want to wear it my dilemma is, is the bubble going to burst if I wait I might pick one up for a lot less than now or am I going to have to bite the bullet? They just seem to keep going up and up.

If a strong correction happens in the market as a whole, watches will follow suit and prices will come down. That being said, the 16610LV is one of the strongest discontinued 5 digit references, so no one can say what the significance of such impact would be.

If you find a good example and are able to negotiate a price within grasp, I'd say go for it.

Why not go for the new model 116610LV?
Oh wait, you can't find them anywhere, you'll have better luck seeing an unicorn.

I may get tarred and feathered for this but I just don't like them. The shade of green and that fact that it's all green doesn't appeal. It's not only the bezel that I like on the original, I love the look of the maxi dial in a 5 digit case, I think it completely alters the look of the watch.

Hi op.

It is a very popular watch.

They seem to still be rising in price at the moment.

The Watch Club in London have a beauty but it's almost £13,000! Mind you, it's better to pay that for a stunner than £10,500 for an mediocre example.

The prices won’t be going down anytime soon. I would buy now if I wanted one instead of waiting and the price increasing even more!

I'm thinking the same tbh. It might not be so bad if I didn't remember what they were new in shop windows! Haha

I have still got the receipt for my Y serial, that I bought unworn and with stickers from a grey dealer in NW England in 2005.
£3200

Consequently got stolen in 2007, at which time the price hadn't changed much.

Yes....and t does make me weep when I look at the prices now. Especially for a Y series/Flat 4.

Did you buy from Iconic Watches at Blackburn? They used to have loads of them. The hours I spent hovering over the buy it now button, I wish I had pressed it several times now!

I wanted one for a number of years and kept telling myself the bubble would burst and they would come down eventually when they were circa £5000. This model in particular seems to just keep climbing

I ended up buying full set example in January this year for £7000.Even since then the price seems to have climbed to £8000 upward now

The prices for these have gone bonkers. A year ago you could get one of these, full set for around £7k

Pateince as the market is in an up cycle. Give it a year or three for the next big downturn. Or come visit usa, we have them at or near retail.

I love the way people keep predicting prices will 'eventually go down' - Rolex prices only go one way

I bought my d series in September 2005 from Ernest Jones for £2650.

I can not believe how much prices have increased in the last 12 months. I think is ridiculous that it will be £10,000 soon.

For that kinda money I rather have an Explorer I and a Submariner...

Get one while you can. The prices are only going one way. Similar to the 16520 & 116520.

Last year 16520 were around £19,000 now they’re around £24/25,000 . 116520 were around £9,000 and now around £14,000.

I’m also tempted to get a Kermit to buddy my hulk ...

Thanks for the invitation.

Just post up any that you see for sale at the last known retail price.

I will fly over and buy them.

I haven't seen a single 16610LV sold for less than £10k in London in 2018 and if you want the original Kermit, prices are getting close to £20k

I wouldn't spend 20k for it, but I may consider buying one at 10k if I don't go for another personal project.
