Recently obtained the SD43 and loving every moment but i am lusting after another more casual watch in my collection.

those who own the SD43 what are your other watches?

or for those like myself - what is the next watch(s) you are looking at for your next purchase?

So far my short list is the Explorer 1 39mm or the Omega Seamaster 300

I wear the omega sm300mc on nato or exp2 polar for casual wear these days...

But I have been looking at the Panerai submersibles lately. Lol

I’m asking myself the same question. I sold my BLNR to afford the SD43, and to some degree I regret it, but to my mind, they look quite similar (my wife never noticed the change).

I too have an Omega SM300 Coaxial in the rotation. I’ve thought about selling it, but I’m convinced it’s the best looking Omega diver.

I also have a Breitling Navitimer 01 that I switch between bracelet and croc strap.

I really would like another Rolex GMT. The new Basil models are nice, but just too pricey right now. I’m thinking about a white-face Explorer II, but I keep thinking Rolex will release a ceramic bezel version soon, so I’ve held off.

Like you, I purchased my first Rolex DSSD a month ago. DSSD is too casual to wear it in the office, so I was thinking to purchase the other one more appropriate for the office. I was seriously considering Explorer II, the latest model. But a week ago I called my AD from whom I purchase DSSD and BTW asked him for BLNR. He had it and hour later I purchased it. So now I'm wearing BLNR on the weekdays and DSSD on the weekends.

My last major watch purchase was the SD43 last August. Picked up a few Seikos and a Junghans since then, but my SD4K, Hulk, and SD43 take up 75% of the wrist time.

My Daytona, Explorer, SD 16600, 14060m, and the rest of them sit lonely. I’m thinking about consolidating into something PM soon. The SD43 really checks a lot of boxes for me.

Explorer 1 would make for a fine choice IMO. If you like DJs, the DJ41 is also incredible and would provide some nice variety for you.

Easier said than done, but a daytona is always a great watch to get. I think the BLNR is also an amazing all arounder that could fill in a few situational gaps for you.

I generally gravitate towards tool watches, especially thoughs with an extensive history.

Thats why explorer 1 comes into mind. Gmt a beauty on it own right but i dont travel a whole lot.

Probably replace my beater with the new gshock full metal.

Is that the Apollo 11 45th version i see? I love the look of that model!!!

Outside of an early model speedy that’s the next one i want to own. I hope they do something epic for the 50th.

I just got two SD43’s, but other than the precious metal watches I can’t afford, unless I only want to limit my collection to 2 or 3 watches, I want the new GMT Pepsi dial and jubilee bracelet. Oh man that one is calling my name. I really also like omega Deville with seperate second hand dial with a brown or black leather strap, and 18 karat gold. Clean lines, uncluttered dial. I really like Omegas but there are so many variations of a particular model that I am unable find the same watch twice online.

I have a beautiful Datejust 36, and really dig the same in 41mm. The Rolex GMT in rose gold is very hot! I want them all but that’s not possible. The Pepsi GMT is definitely next. My AD said realistically 2-5 years if I don’t want to go grey market and overpay.

I recently bought the SD43 and my next one will be a Sky D in either blue or black. How about that? Another "Dweller" :) I also like the idea of ocean / sky / land (DJ, DD, OP, etc.)

My SD43 is my one and only right now but I think I may look to add either a 16710 in the future or potentially a DJ41.

A SD43 is a pretty casual watch but I think an Explorer would make a fine addition, as it's very versatile and doesn't scream "Rolex" to most people.

Where are you that an AD had a BLNR on hand?

OP,

For a more casual watch, a great choice would be 214270. Goes with T-shirt and jeans, or a suit, and is classic, simple and elegant.

i think so too but when i tried it on a few months ago i felt it was a little small. but everything else seems prefect. the bad thing is that in Melbourne no AD has the explorer is stock. even grey dealers that i have seen only have the 36mm. maybe wrong

I have owned the SD43 since early in the release cycle. I have bought A Panerai 389 and a IWC. Both are large watches at 47 and 45 mm but they work for me as I have a 7.75 wrist and I like the size. The Panerai 1389 in your photograph is nice but I would look for a slightly owned 389 and save some cash.

Honestly, I think the SD43 is pretty casual looking. The watches you are considering aren't exactly casual looking but if you mean more understated then sure.

If you want a casual Rolex, that is more under the radar, then get a Rolex Explorer II. The previous version stands out even less due to its size.

I have to agree with this post...the SD is the ultimate casual, IMO.

I would either go with the EXP2 suggestion or go a little dressier...maybe a DD/DJ .

After the SD43 I put my name on a waiting list for the Daytona.

Might take up to 8 years though!

I have GMTs, Subs and a Daytona C as of 3 weeks ago. Bought the SD43 today.
New Pepsi GMT is on my radar screen. Have also been thinking about adding a DJ and at some point a DD.

I was looking for a non-Rolex travel watch and am totally digging my latest acquisition!

I urge you not to overlook Tudor when shopping for your next watch.

I like all the recommendations for the Explorer!

That was my follow up to my SD43! There have been some other great suggestions, I just love the 214270 and how different it is from the SD.
