Hello all. I'm admittedly a neophyte in the watch collecting world and had a question, or two, about a watch I recently came across. I have been unable to nail down the reference or exact age and was wondering if any of you gentleman might recognize this watch. If so, feel free to chime in and set me straight.

On page 13 of Dowling/Hess's book I see some very similar models with references 181-722, 2283, 940-522 and 281-523...early early Rolex. Best of luck eh

My guess would be 1915 - 1925, probably 9kt Rolex. Model number is not very important for such early, non oyster watches.

Need to see the movement and the case back.

Nice looking watch.
