Hi all
Anybody IS OR KNOWS a Rolex specialist repairer that can deal with a worn clasp and bracelet on Ladies Rolex Oyster Perpetual datejust, 18ct gold model 69318, currently 30318. Rolex quoted £10K for a replacement bracelet. Many thanks, Karina |

I assume you’re referring to a stretched bracelet? Also what is wrong with the clasp? Rolex won’t fix a bracelet or clasp due to being worn out, but there are quite a few people/ companies that will work and actually fix stretched and worn ones. Anyone know the name of the guy in Tokyo/ HongKong (I know that’s a scary thing to think of)...

Typically work runs 600-800 but photos will help us determine how much work is needed.

Heavy goldsmith work required for President bands. New gold rods and often gold tubes to repair the center links where the holes become oval shape. But yes the links and pins generally need repair. A lot of the older bands are hollow so laser welding isn't always possible. Rotary tool and oxygen torch for 90% of the work. The laser welding in gold fill wire is great for filling in small imperfections in the final finishing stages.
Not nearly as work friendly as steel or two tone bands. |

We polished up a small part of the bracelet to get this fun photo. The contrast from the course goldsmith work to the final finish work is striking. Notice the color of the bracelet changes significantly after polish.

No doubt very tedious and time consuming work. They were first only fixing ss bracelets. Glad to see they are doing 18K gold restorations now. There has to be tons of worn out 18K president and other gold bracelets out there and folks who just can't afford to shell out 15K USD to Rolex for a new gold bracelet.

Here’s a better shot of the gold rods and tubes showing the different diameters needed.
