Not sure it it's a fair comparison, because one is hanging and the other appears to be resting on the counter. However, as they appear, the difference between the gaps between the links are very noticeable.

That’s not stretch. That’s the way it’s built. The new dd40s have ceramic pins to eliminate bracelet stretch. Time will tell.

There is no such thing as stretch on DD40s and DD2s. They all have ceramic inserts to eliminate past issues of stretch.

Is that a DD40, or a 36mm model?

Then I’d opt for the first bracelet. I’ve had Jubilee’s loosely linked and tightly linked - the looser ones were more comfortable.

Odd question. How can a brand new never worn watch have bracelet "stretch "?

Correct...but the gap between the links are clearly visible. I've already tried wearing YG DD40 may be 100times and video recorded each and every time and none had gaps between the links except this one.

Hmmm...that's odd. And those stickers are not ones I'm familiar with on a brand new Rolex either.

I don't have a good comparison shot, but here's a pic of mine, which may help.

I agree with the plastic comment. It is definitely a DD40 though, look at the lugs. There are supposed to be gaps between the links, and these are actually vents. The nature of the president strap would have you sweating bullets without the vents.

I don't know, I grabbed my dads 18078 1980 DD worn for 30 years never off the the wrist. The gaps are the same on that new DD ? The 18078 has some nice stretch to it . Melts on the wrist!

Good point "watchwearer",,,,,
i thought those stickers didnt look right?,,,,,
Makes me wonder if its a return [unworn],,,
i would have more concern over that then the bracelet,,,,
tag looks old as the hills,,all frayed,,,,,
op has a right to be concerned it would seem,,,,,
best of luck in sorting it out,,,,,

My DD2 is much tighter than that...I would pass on it. Doesn't look right to me. The second pic looks more like what it should be.

Of course it's brand new. The new DD 40's have ceramic as well to help protect against stretching. The likelihood of stretching of a brand new example is slim to none.

I have a feeling they may take some extra liberty protecting the full PM bracelet at their own discretion in-store for handling prior to sale.

If it is brand new I wouldn't worry about anything, especially with the above mentioned upgraded pins.

If there’s a question I would just buy New Elsewhere.

When it feels right, I’d buy it.

Larry, was your DD40 bracelet wrapped in a protective plastic when pulled out of the plastic box? Not the first time I have seen a brand new full PM watch with plastic wrapping on the bracelet. Does Rolex do this to protect it from scratches before it is unboxed? Maybe this is only on YG,WG,RG,PT models.

Looks like a display watch. That would make sense for the stretching and
weird plastic wrap.
