Swap old GMT2 v/s new SS GMT2?
Hello all,
Would you trade a 16710 Pepsi on Jubilee bracelet with a 3186 movement with the new 126710 ? The 16710 has box and other goodies but no original guarantee card, it has been serviced by Rolex recently and it is confirmed it has the 3186 in it and it is an original BLRO. The 126710 is new but no sticker, probably worn once or twice. The guy would swap the old GMT + 3000 € for the new one. Would you go for it? Thank you . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have both now, 16710/3186 and 126710, both are keepers. 126710 lists for 8500€ and a 16710/3186 sells generally for the double ... I won't do this swap |

Thanks Alpino,
I am more looking at grey market prices as there is no way I will get it from an AD any time soon. And with no plastic guarantee card, the 16710 looses value compared to the full set. So not really sure if it is a good bargain or not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The old one is more expensive (collectible). Do not do it.

Does the 16710 lose value because you don’t have the paper? You mean the one that fits in the green leather pocket? Since it’s been to RSC, I would think that is irrelevant.
Taking a long term view, the new one will prob settle down in the future, down to months wait from AD whereas Rolex won’t be making anymore 16710s. I see the temptation and your trying to justify it because of the lack of papers but I’d hold out and aim for the new one as an addition in future... Nice position to be in though |

As owner of both I would without a doubt. The new 126710 is my favorite in current Rolex lineup and is worth all the hype. It is just a nicer watch in my eyes and if you can get one get it!

No, the old one looks better and has more classic proportions. The new version while shiny, is not really functionally better.
