Stain or discoloration on my BLNR case
I thought this was a water spot, and then realized neither WristClean nor blue Dawn soap removed it. Any thoughts or ideas what else to try? I don’t know what caused it. It looks like a chemical stain but I have no idea what it would be from. |

Does the surface feel any different on it, like it’s been etched by something ?
Could it be abrasion on the case ?

Try a sunshine cloth.
If it takes more than that, I’d wait until service. We’re you using any household chemicals? Something like CLR might cause discoloration as it removes the oxide, but otherwise I can’t think of something around the house that’ll etch 904 stainless. |

Looks like they missed a polish, an AD should be able to buff it, in a minute. No problem

That looks like a weld repair to me.

That looks like a chemical stain. I had something similar awhile back. It was on my Bulova when I was working with some chemical when i was in the lab. I had to have a professional polish to remove it

Were any Lego figures using it as a bike or skateboard ramp?
Sorry, I have nothing. I'd need to see it with a loupe to make a call. |

It could be a polishing burn.

I think scrubbing bubbles is over the top when cleaning a watch.Anyway the entire case would be showing signs that cleaning agents did this. I think that is a metal impurity.

Looks like a stain. Take it to the AD and see what they say. No polish.

Rubbing alcohol on a q tip and gently rubbing on spot should remove it. It worked for me

Update: AD was able to remove the spot in a few minutes. They said they had seen similar superficial stains before. One was caused by cologne.
I’m betting it was the ammonia in the glass cleaner I used on my windows. All good now. Thanks for all the suggestions. |

Great post! Thanks for sharing. Nothing like that on my watches at the moment but if I ever get one I'll know it's an easy fix.

Impressive, I never imagined that steel, especially Rolex steel, was sensitive to ammonia. I learned something new to take into consideration. Thank you op to upgrade the wire.

I'm amazed that after 9 months of ownership it looks like it has no scratches!
I've had mine 2 months, the bracelet doesn't look anything like as good as yours |
