Icon5 Day date 40 yellow gold silver dial thoughts

Hi Everyone,

I am planning on purchasing a yellow gold day date 40 and I can’t decide if I should get the silver Roman or the white Roman dial.

I would like be to hear your thoughts. I am a finance professor and I am celebrating turning 50.

I wear slacks, a polo shirt and a sports jacket most days.

Have a great day.

Have you tried them on in person? If not, I think that’s the first step. There are plenty of people on here who would tell you either way based on their opinion and preference. As such, my preference would be white given the two options you’ve described. Yellow gold is also a good choice for your milestone coming up. My prefernce would be the white gold and green if I were choosing.

The gold DD40 with silver dial is my next purchase...hopefully within the next month or so!

I've tried both the white and silver side by side; my wife and sister-in-law were with me and they both said hands down, the silver. I've been leaning towards the silver, it was only after seeing an amazing photo on instagram did I actually consider the white (I find the white dials a bit boring). Once again, it came down to seeing the watch in person; while the white dial in that specific instagram photo was amazing, having it on the wrist was rather bland. Silver dial all the way!

Go for the silver. Sunburst or bust!

Which silver dial? The Roman or motif?

I prefer the contrast of silver against a gold background, as opposed to white. I feel like there's a better "flow" or transition from bracelet to dial with the silver. The white dial seems to "interrupt" the gold.

I went with white and I find it so crisp
The silver sunburst is kinda dull and as you age the eyes will have a harder time.reading the dial

Hahaha great minds think alike. I went with the exact same dial after tossing up between the Champagne dial, white dial and the silver motif dial.

I had my heart set on the white dial from the pictures but in real life it just seemed a little to bland for my taste. I suggest to the Op look at them in person. Pictures are 1 thing but in real life they look greatly different.

Once I saw the Motif in person it was game over.
