First time picture
Hi guys at TRF. This is my first time posting my watch here on the forums. Hope you like it. This will be the first and many more to come. Im just trying out my new homemade light box. so im still experimenting with lighting, exposure and staging of the watch. Comments and criticism are really appreciated. Hope everyone had a good and safe New Years.

I am no expert, but it appears a bit washed out. I do appreciate your efforts though.
Perhaps a bit less light and more contrast. Focus on the green GMT hand for your focal point. If it is in focus, everything else should be there. Again, I appreciate the efforts and you will surely get it with that light box. I have been thinking about getting one.

Nice shot. It's not as sharp as it could be and there appears to be some distortion but overall the lighting looks good and you appear to be on the right track. Looking forward to more shots once you nail it down. You definitely have me beat.

really nice watch ryan, Rich might be right but its a nice effort. I like the contrast of live pics myself (wrist shots). Light boxes are tricky, they do tend to make "vanilla" shots but if you have the right macro settings they can be stunning shots. I don't have the patience myself and my equipment isn't refined enough so good luck and happy shooting!!

maybe he's going for a pixelized, artistist impression. not every shot has to reflect realism right?

Nice watch Ryan I would give you advice on the photo but if you've ever seen my pictures on this site you'd know that I have no clue what I'm doing. Luckily, there are a lot of photo buffs around here and some good advice threads on how to take great pics. Good luck, keep posting them

Watch photos are tricky... I tried my first last week with my PAM. Went to Home Depot to try to put together some gear - lighting etc... Hoping to play around today - Sat - suppose to be rainy...
Anyway, nice job and thanks for working on it. We all live vicariously through each other on this watch addiction we have...

The picture is good, the choice of background is not.
Perhaps a very light blue or some other light-coloured background would have made a world of difference. Good luck - JJ
