Icon14 New strap - world of difference

I just wanted to share my excitement regarding my Omega 3520.50. I've had it for awhile and it really did not get much wrist time at all.

I finally decided that something was lacking/missing and figured out that for me, it was the bracelet. Somehow it just didn't make the watch flow. It didn't flow for me to the extent that I was thinking about parting with it.

I decided that I would try a strap. I went with a leather strap that matches the black of the dial (i.e., not glossy, but matte) and has white stitching to also match the white on the dial.

All I can say is WOW! I can't believe what a difference it has made. In fact, I love the watch now and couldn't even think of parting with it.

Here is a pic:

I like it Brendan, it looks great. Sometimes all it takes is al ittle change to bring a watch back to life in your eyes.

Thanks all - I know a strap isn't for everyone - but for me and this watch, it's the only way to go.

Oh Bill, mine is the speedy day date automatic.

Oh, that looks nice.

Really nice.

How about a link to the strap?

Somehow this watch has escaped my prior notice.

I would like some explanation of the model number and the dial functions.

First of all, I have seen a 3220.50 before, which appears to have the same functions and differs only in the dial face itself, in that the 3220 seems to have a sculpted dial face and the 3520.50 seems to have a perfectly flat dial face.

Otherwise, what does the hour hand in the nine o'clock subdial indicate?

Can it function as a second time zone or as a GMT-type hour hand?

Glad people seem to like it as well!

The strap came from Otto Frei: http://www.ofrei.com/index.html

This watch pretty much has it all. Chronograph with tachymetre, day, month, date and 24 hour hand.

9 o'clock sub dial has a 24 hour hand and a second hand. Only functions as a military time hand - no second time zone functionality.

Dial is absolutely flat - sapphire crystal slightly domed.

The difference between the 3520.50 and 3220.50 is that the 3220.50 is the new version (strange that the newer model has a lower number). The newer version is now a chronometer (i.e., COSC certified), although my 3520.50 is running about +1 right now - so totally within COSC specs. The COSC cert is probably just a marketing ploy like the decision to make all Rolex sport watches chronometers as well even though the movements didn't necessarily change.
