GS files for separate subsidiary in USA

Please find the hodinkee link below to the article with details. Seems Seiko is going to make sure the GS brand continues to build on its recent successes in the USA.

Interesting, thanks for posting. I wonder why the new GSA company will also be responsible for marketing Prospex and Presage, though, if they're trying to set GS apart.

I’m not sure of that Adam but I’m happy for it as maybe we will get some cool prospex stuff sent our way

Some of the comments at the bottom are interesting. Seems very supportive of the brand compared to a year or two back.

Great move. Now maybe we will get some of the cool JDM Seiko dice watches in the US on a more regular basis.

Saw this, exciting stuff. I feel like GS is playing smart right now, and hopefully that will mean lots of good things for everyone.

I honestly think Jack's love for GS on hodinkee has been a positive catalyst for the brand in the US, at least with their audience.

Maybe Joe Kirk at the Miami boutique who fought for years at AZ Time to get them to the US.

I noticed they took the 8 days model (both gold and platinum) off the US website.

Great news for GS! Sounded like they will take some Prospec diver watches along to be GS too.

Maybe time to get a GS before they raise the price to be competitive with Rolex and Omega.

Interesting I am not familiar with Joe. I was more commenting on the positive feedback you see on Hodinkee regarding GS.

Joe was the reason I bought my first GS. The product quality is the reason I will have another. This is great news!

Looks like Joe left Miami to work in NY at the new corporate headquarters. Good for him!

the AD here in town (Nashville) is going to start selling GS here within the next 45 days. Already making space for the cases.

Joe worked at AZ Time for years trying to bring GS watches into the US. He was the channel to getting Asia only watches, and getting watches serviced in Japan.

Then he moved to working for Seiko directly in Miami. https://www.watchuseek.com/an-interv...outique-miami/
