Welcoming my AP

Hey TRF! Ive finally received my 1st AP! Always really liked the black and blue colored tapisserie dials but after googling multiple pictures, decided the blue Royal Oak was what I wanted. So a couple months back I called a boutique, was able to get on the waitlist(estimated wait was 12-18 months), and a few friendly exchanges and two weeks later, my salesperson called me and said he had one allocated to me by the end of the year! I needed to put down a deposit but I was ecstatic and felt foruntate to be allocated one in such a short amount of time. Finally, this past Saturday, he texted me a picture of my blue 15400 and it arrived this morning. He mentioned it was the last blue they were receiving this year, but who knows. It took a total of 2 months and 8 days from the moment I first called and got on the waitlist (yes I did look back to see how long in total I had to wait because it seemed so short) and I am overjoyed with this gorgeous watch!

First impression is that the watch is simply beautiful! I’ve touched and felt the royal oak before in stores, but when it’s your own and you can really examine it, you see the superb finishing and the craftsmanship that went into making it. The blue is amazing as well! There are so many different hues of blue depending on the light that it would be impossible to capture it all. I’ve only had it for a few hours but I don’t want to take it off. In fact I’m at home waiting for the wife to get home (also why I have time to write this incoming) so we can go out somewhere and yes we’re definitely going somewhere because I need to take this baby out

Here are some pictures and I also received a couple swag gifts.. couple polos and a cap! And no I still have not taken the plastic off yet

Stunning! I would love to get one as my next watch. Blue is stunning, but I have a bluesy so I was thinking silver dial? But your pics got me thinking of having 2 blue dials!

Congrats. It looks great! Take the dang plastics off though. What is your wrist size? I got some nice swag when I took delivery of my 15450ST blue dial in July...cap, polo and a corded bracelet with small RO pendant.

Thank you everybody for the kind words

A couple thoughts... This watch is very shiny! It definitely reflects light well and is stunning to stare at. With that being said, its about the maximum I would want my watch to shine, maybe even more so than i normally want. I can only imagine how much the new frosted AP's will shine.

Also logged into my AP account on their website that I created a small while ago to input my watch... and what do you know, its already there! Well played, AP... sneaky

Plastics off before we went out for dinner My wrist is 6.75"-7" depending on the weather.. They took off 3 links for me prior to shipping and right now its semi snug when it was warmer during the day but when it got colder it started to slide up and down my wrist, which i hate... so really debating if I should remove another link.. would love for it to stay put but also don't want it too tight

Huge congratulations! It’s a great piece

The AP boutiques in the US seem to have much better swag than they do in Asia...that’s a great selection they sent you!

Nah, don’t remove another link. It will be too tight. Contact APSC Clearwater and get yourself a 1.5 link. That should do the trick.

Blue is my absolute favorite dial. My friend has the blue dial chrono and the tone of that blue when the light hits it is beautiful. To me is very similar to the Sky Dweller blue. Congratulations on a great piece!

hey man congrats i recieved my white one last week also!

I too have the same problem, i have a 7.25 wrist so i took off 2 links, i wanted to take out 3 but they told me not too. Couple days of use, i noticed when my wrist swells up it fits exactly on my wrist bone where i like my watch, but i noticed throughout the day as its colder my watch slides up and down all over the place which is pretty uncomfortable

still contemplating on wether or not i should take out that 3rd link.

Don't take off a 3rd. You can try but then it will likely be too tight, get a 1.5 link.
