GMT ii waiting list

I have been given good news and bad news, Good news is I can have a new GMT within 2 months maximum bad news is its £4000.

I don't know if I could get on a list and not have to pay over the odds for.

Or if I should just get this with interest free which is handy although its a false economy if I pay more for the watch.

Looking in London if anyone has any advice

Mike,

I would suggest you make a few calls outside London. GMTII is easy to pick up for 10% discount. Avoid the chains (Unless a signet cardholder) and ring the indies. Use Rolex.com to help you find the AD's.

Good luck it's a nice watch but not £4000 nice

Yup, waiting list and RRP seems like a bit of a bum deal to me. This watch is definitely available now at 5-10% off if you phone around.

I am sitting here looking at mine, brand new out of my local AD this AM, no waiting and with a discount as per the previous post.

First time ever in the place, no regular purchases and had only the info on here to go on, felt well informed and achieved the figure I was prepared to pay.

I was very pleased with price but amazed how busy they were and how decent & genuine other R lovers were toward me just in passing in the shop and sharing my moment.

Skint but smiling - Clarkey

This sounds very interesting!

I will be in London on Monday afternoon and any advice from you guys on where to buy a SS GMTIIc would be highly appreciated, especially if available at £3600.

Well as far as I am aware the GMT IIC at the old price of £3600 is only available to repeat customers.
There were a few in Glasgow recently at all three AD's in fact- not sure if they are still there. If you want the AD names/numbers PM me

Thank you for the info.

Unfortunately I'm not from the UK so Glasgow is a bit too far for me as I'm only in London Monday on business. Leaving again Tuesday morning.

I will be staying in the Kensington area if anyone has any suggestions on AD's. Will probably take a trip to Bond Street, Piccadilly, Oxford &
Regent Street, time permitting.

You are heading in the right direction my man. 3 Watches of Switzerland on Old/New Bond St, DM london @ Selfridges on Oxford St, Mappin & Webb on Regent St etc. If you have time also head towards Knightsbridge for Harrods Luxury Watch dept & Watches of Switzerland.
Best of luck with the search..

Thank you charliec.

I have made a note of all the AD's you've mentioned and will try and find them when I get there.

I'm back from my visit to London - without a GMTIIc unfortunately.

The weather forecast said heavy rain but it was actually very pleasant weather and I spend several hours on Bond, Piccadilly, Oxford &
Regent Street. I asked in all of the stores displaying Rolex'es except a few. I visited 2 Watches of Switzerland, Selfridges, Mappin & Webb, Ernest Jones, Wempe and several others. All of them just smiled and said: "Sorry, I'm afraid we don't have any".

Although I didn't find a GMTIIc I saw a lot of other nice watches, especially some of the single and double red SD's in Burlington Arcade!

Is SS GMT2c so rare? One of our ADs here has one on display for eons...
Unfortunately our list price is like A$9600 so that's like 4.5k pounds but that includes 10% GST.

Doing the conversion 4000 lbs is approximately 5800usd which would be a great price in the states. What is srp in GB?

I am really suprised,I know the AD I went to had a GMT in stock at xmas so just called in and the deal was done, plus I did get a great price!

There must be some in stock somewhere close to London, be aware of the fast rail liks to certain places which should mean the AD's in Reading, Cardif, South Coast etc are doable!

There was one on here at £3650 BNIB the other week from a regular.

Good Luck.

i checked with a couple of ADs here in socal (Baron & Leeds and Hing Wa) and it turns out the stainless GMTIIC is out of stock. Maybe Rolex has cut production due to the economy. The only stuff in stock at in Socal is whatever has been sitting; no new ones are being shipped..... Ben Bridge has 1 here in Brea that they have had for a while.
