Brushing the PCL on my GMT Master ll black dial
Hi everyone,
I have decided to brush the PCL on my GMT Master ll since I believe the polished links looks dark ( almost black) from so many angels! What’s are your thoughts about my decision? Please share your professional opinion. Thank you, |

I'm not a professional, but I wouldn't do it. Instead, I'd let the links get naturally brushed over time.

I also would not recommend it. Why not try to get a Sub bracelet?

I love the PCL, so much nicer than the brushed and it suits the gmt perfectly IMO

I brushed the PCL’s on my GMT and for daily beater use I much prefer the look and I find I’m not molly coddling it because I can re-brush if it it does pick up scratches & scuffs. I thought about searching out a Sub Glidelock but I prefer the smaller clasp of the GMT bracelet and the way it sits on my wrist.
But I managed to find and purchase a brand new unopened still in blister packaging GMT bracelet so I can go back to polished PCL’s as easy as changing the bracelet

Definitely prefer brushed vs. PCL.

i wouldn't do it. If i wanted a brushed bracelet i would get a sub as it looks pretty close. Not a big fan of modifying bracelets even if its just a polish modification

I prefer the GMT the way it came from the manufacture. Once you own a watch it is yours to do with as you want but I never have. If a bracelet did not work for me I would find a watch whose bracelet or other item did. I would leave it alone and let time take care of the bracelet or I would get a Submariner or SD.

Brush away. It looks great if done properly.

I bought the sub bracelet for my GMT LN and never looked back. I still have the PCL bracelet it came with all stickered up and in the box.

You will see polished bits remain between the links that cannot be brushed. They catch the light and it is annoying. I did it and then bought a Sub bracelet.

Ha! Not mine. Something tells me it's much to loved to sell. Here's a link to the story:

To me professionally brushed looks infinitely better than excessively scratched up but that is only my opinion

And on that note, I don't see and excessively scratched up watch. I see a watch that more than likely belongs to an non-obsessive owner who goes about living their life despite what's on their wrist. A landscaper's Rolex is sure to look different that of an attorney.
