Good deal or not...

Hey guys

A friend of mine has been offered a 2018 used 116718 LN for £10k in good condition.

Based on prices on Chrono24, even if you take 20% off the lowest priced one on there, it would be £13k so £10k seems like a steal.

He knows the guy he’d be buying it from so is comfortable that it’s all good, but I’m concerned it’s too good to be true.

Thoughts?

Very cheap, he sure it's not stolen or a franken? I'd first give it in to RSC and ask for a repair quote and if you get one then the watch is all good and I would proceed. Most greys will pay 14K plus for this.

Don't know if that's too good to be true, but chrono24 asking prices are somewhat higher than "norm". (if there were such a thing)

A 2018 116718LN for that price? I'd be inclined to go take a look and meet at RSC to verify its not reported stolen and its 100% legit.

If it all checks out buy it. Quite possible someone is in desperate need of cash.

Whats the trade in value for the watch? The selling price on watch sites is one thing, but its what is offered for an outright purchase, or trade in is the number I'd take in to account.

If the seller NEEDS cash, then is £10k what he is being offered from a store? or less? If he needs cash, he is not looking to buy another watch, so the trade buy in price will be less than a trade "up" price .... I hope that makes sense.

There must be more to the story to work on.

That’s way too cheap.
Better check to see if it’s genuine.

Absolutely, my friend. I would have to have incontrovertible evidence that it wasn't before I would even think about this deal.

There must be a reason for such a low price. Your friend knows the seller so there should be no trust issues. The seller must be uniformed on current prices or he wants a quick sale. There is still such a thing as getting a good deal but regardless he still should have it checked out.

I would want to bring it to rsc for a service quote. It’s sounds ridiculously cheap. I have to imagine a simple eBay auction would net the seller significantly more.

seems like less than a grey would buy it for. so why are they selling it and assuming the risk.
