Got The Go Ahead!

Okay guys, after lurking these forums for the past 18 months my frugal self and my wife have agreed the time is right! I will buy a Sub C as soon as it becomes available. Please let me know what the best way to track one down is, I'm living in Honolulu, HI. and there is only 3 dealers on Oahu (kicking myself for not buying last year when they were readily available) and I'd prefer to get this by Christmas.

Looking for the SS Sub C w/date, some questions below:

-Does it help to call all three dealers daily or will this piss them off
-Anyone have an AD that would ship out here at MSRP
-Should I register this is my name or my 10 year old sons? Will eventually be on his wrist and looking for some fatherly advice here
-Anything I should know should I find one in stock?
-What is the benefit of picking up at the Rolex Boutique vs Ben Bridge Timeworks

I got mine from the Rolex boutique. Had my name down at Ben bridge but felt like it wouldn’t come soon anyway as they have their “list” of big spenders. What I did though was go to the boutique in person and just talk story with them and get their number. Once you do, I would just kindly text them every other week as to when yours might arrive. That’s what I did and eventually they put me at the top of their list and I got my sub date in like a month.

Nice to hear the perspective of a local! I will go there tomorrow and talk story with them, been talking to a guy named Danny and he asked me to come down but work keeps me busy!!! I'm on S King though so will take the time tomorrow for sure.

When did you buy out of curiosity? Trying to see if it was in our current drought.

Calling daily will piss them off. Once a week at most. Better still, visit in person and build a relationship.

I got mine early Oct (last month). I hoping you get yours by Christmas bro! Do you have purchase history with Ben bridge or Rolex boutique at ala Moana? They’re both the same entity just different shops. But the purchase history will help you. In my experience though, time works really likes to stick with purchase history in terms of who gets what when. Rolex boutique though, they did mention purchase history but like I said, just keep persistent and maybe they’ll bump you up. Nice car btw bro!

Thank you for the comment on the car! Pain finding parking with enough clearance on both sides here in Hawaii!

I do not have any shopping history with either so I know it is going to be tough. Wife just gave me the okay about 20 minutes ago as she has been on the fence for the last 18 months while I research. Kids are hoping I find it as well!

Both Rolex stores at Ala Moana are the same. I’m talking about the one by LV, and the one down in the new section above Shirokiya. I would go to both and find a salesperson and talk to them.

There’s a newer store at the International Marketplace. When I recently went to talk to all three about a DJ41 a friend wants, none of them seemed very interested in my business. None would put my name down, I got mixed messages from each about whether it was possible to get my name put on a list of some sort. The one at IM said if I gave them my credit card info, they could call me if one came in, but I would have to pick it up that day. All were very interested in selling me a PM piece.

Good luck.

Good luck bro! Can dm me if you need anything as well! But just go in and show interest then follow up every so often. Hopefully it will work out come Christmas.

stop in a couple times a month I guess. Sub isn't that hard to get. If I had a watch store and somebody called me everyday, I'd probably block their number.

Up to you. You/they can write whatever you want on the warranty card. Doesn't make a difference.
-Anything I should know should I find one in stock?
If you like it, buy it.
-What is the benefit of picking up at the Rolex Boutique vs Ben Bridge Timeworks
Nothing.

Stick with Danny. If Danny isn’t available then ask for Lawrence. I’m pretty sure there won’t be a conflict as far as who you work with. Both super cool bruddahs. They will take care of you and should be able to get you a sub C. If I get a call for one do you want me to buy it and pay me back? If so, PM me and we can figure it out.

This. You may find they take you a bit more serious if you walk in the door, a couple of times. The dealers I talk with with tell me often that they get calls every day form all of the country looking for this or that. They don't give those callers the time of day. Good luck!
