Question about RDC
Hello all,
I have an ‘86 Presidential that has stopped. I had it recently serviced for a check up at a local jewerly store. I wanted to take it an authorized Rolex shop this time so I called a local dealer. I was told they send it a facility in Pennsylvania. The salesman went on to say they train watch makers there and it is an authorized by Rolex facility. I asked if they could send it Dallas or New York and was told no. She said they only work on Tudors in Dallas and New York is only offices. Reading here on the forum I though both of those cities were good to go for servicing. Am I missing something? |

I wouldn’t let a loyal jewelry store touch anything. Send it yourself to Dallas it’s much easier. They are very nice on the phone and will help you throughout the process.

This. Bypass the store and ship it directly yourself. Dallas will email you all you need to know about shipping the watch. They might even send you a mailing kit.

I suspected so. I wonder why they would say they couldn’t ship it to Dallas?

Have to agree, you were flat out lied to! I will also tell you there are many instances where someone takes to their AD for service thinking that’s the procedure, and are told it was sent to Rolex Service Center in Dallas or NY only to encounter problems later. Then when they take it back to rectify the new issue that has presented itself after the fresh service they ultimately find that it was not sent to Rolex as indicated. Sometimes this only becomes clear after the owner calls Rolex themselves because they are not getting it resolved! Unless the watch is under warranty from original purchase, send to Rolex yourself...or find an independent you trust...and deal with them directly!

Someone posted a month or so ago they got a kit sent to them. Might depend on who you talk to when you call.

Hmmm...I really hope that is the case for those whom are in need! I've personally never had an issue, and in the past it would not matter whom you spoke with, they simply would offer to send you the shipping kit!

There’s nothing wrong with the Rolex service center in Pennsylvania. If the OP is in Virginia then by defaul that AD would send all their work to PA. So, I think you just have a case of the uninformed sales person telling half truths.

Yes.....RSCs at Dallas and New York repair Rolexes. Whoever told you otherwise is lying or uniformed. As for Pennsylvania, there is a Rolex facility in Lititz. They train watchmakers and provide all needed services. Check out their website. I have had two DJs sent there for work under warranty and had excellent service. The AD I use here in Colorado sends all Rolex work to Lititz. Turnaround time is 3-4 weeks.
