Christmas Season Inventory

Im curious, what are people doing if they are looking for a certain model for a Christmas gift. Given the current state of the AD inventory, if you were really wanting to purchase something for someone, what would you go for? Within the 8-10K range.

My AD tells me that they only get a few shipments during the holiday season and that the factory will eventually shut down for a couple of weeks during the holiday season.

I was told yesterday that holiday allotments are rolling in and will be the last for a bit. Take that for what it’s worth. To answer your question, in that range you could get a SS sub or gmt. I have seen some in cases lately.

My AD has a shipment coming next week and he has a 116610LV just for me in that order. I passed one up in May and I am not making that mistake again.

For a watch this Christmas you should have unfortunately ordered at the beginning of 2017, yes 2017, as after that things have gotten rather silly.

I was in my AD last week for an event and my Salesman told me to stop in before the end of the year. I wonder if they have some special watches coming in for Christmas.

That's a great watch. I'm wearing mine at my daughter's dance clinic as I type this (sitting in the back with the rest of the dance dads).

I just read an article that ADs were keeping stock in back to bring out in december, which l doubt. It looks like it's going to be a rather bleak or black Christmas for Rolex shoppers.

Even with a Christmas shipment from Rolex it may not do anyone any good. There’s likely to be a long list for popular models so unless someone is already in line it’s a moot point.

I made a similar thread last year. That was only a few months into the shortage and it's only gotten worse.

I stopped in at a local AD today. It sounded like they already had their Christmas allotment. The only SS sports model in the case was a YMII. They had both the WG and YG Subs, which looked AMAZING.
