118238 (YG) vs 116520 (SS)

So as my futile search continues for a 116500 Ceramic. I’m leaning more towards a preowned watch. I was considering two different watches - early 2000s 118238 in yellow gold with silver dial and batons even though white gold makes more sense for me. It just looks too close to SS for the higher price.
And then considering 2010+ 116520 black dial. Both watches would be excellent condition with no bracelet stretch. The Daytona would definitely hold better value and be more versatile, then the president which would probably be too loud for an everyday watch. Anyone have input and some wrist shots?

I brought the 118238 new and keep waiting for the 500c, also brought 116515 since I like Rolex RG. These were my choice.

i don't think that daytona would hold value better than a 118238. also you mentioned wg looks too close to ss for the price so i would assume you would regret getting a wg daytona

Really nothing has the demonstrated value holding power of a Daytona. If that is your concern then the Daytona is the watch you want. PM watches aren't known for holding their value, in fact quite the opposite.
