Determining Age of Submariner
Hi everyone. I purchased a beautiful Submariner 5513 from a great AD here in town. There are no box and papers but they said it is from 1970. I went on 17 websites and punched in the S/N. 10 came back with the year 1968, 1 came back with 1969 and 6 came back with 1970. For me the older the better and I would love for the watch to be from 1968, but how do you determine the age ?

Try typing in the clasp code on the inside of the clasp where it says Steelinox and we if you get a date match.

Also there was a member named Orchi on the vintage discussion that posted a whole reference page on serial numbers/ clasp codes and corresponding dates. He was a huge resource and vat of knowledge but for some reason was banned. I’m not Sure why but he Was very knowledgeable.
