Louis Vuitton Keepall or Gucci Soft GG Supreme

Hi everyone, I know there are quite a few of you that may have either one or both. I am torn, yes I know, what moron is going to spend that kind of coin in a duffle bag. Well, this time it’s me. Not my wife! I think she is jealous I am venturing into her side of the pond.....anyway, I am wanting to purchase one and I would appreciate any first hand experience of ownership. The LV is going to be that graphite pattern and the Gucci would be of the same type of color, grey . Thanks everyone

Lv. I think it holds up better. Oh don’t get me starts on lv , Gucci , supreme , offwhite and yeezys in my house. My wife’s bag collections is worth way more than my watches. This is why I am getting the okay to buy so many watches without a guilt trip. I told her I get the addiction now. She had over 40 plus designer bags. What is wrong with 40 watches haha. We carry lv for all our travel stuff and Gucci for backpacks. Gucci and lv men are making a big comeback right now

Picked up a couple Keepall bags at Heathrow. 55 in graphite and a 45 in black and gray LV. Love them both, very well made and comfortable to carry. I think a step up from Gucci.

Between those two the LV hands down. They are the Rolex of designer bags. They started out as a luggage company too. Way too much heritage with LV for Gucci to compete. And I see way too many Gucci knockoffs. Well LV for that matter too but I can tell a fake a mile away. LV=Rolex and Gucci =omega. Both great but LV will always be better. Btw my wife collects Chanel now. Chanel = AP and Patek= Birkin lol

Holding Gucci and LV products side by side, LV wins even though it is more expensive. Quality and finishing feels better than Gucci.

The one thing I did notice is that Gucci has some inside pockets and I don’t think the LV does.

My 45 Keepall has one inside pocket. Interestingly my 55 has none.

I’ve been debating on the same type bags. Lucky for me our local mall has the two stores virtually next door to each other. I felt the LV had better quality and a nicer feel to it.

I’ll proabably go with the smaller keepall so it can be my personal item along with my rolling luggage.

No experience with this Gucci but the Keepall is fantastic. Very durable and I highly recommend it.

I debated those and ended up getting a coach bag instead. Felt more sturdy and i was throwing it around on the floor. Stepping on it and such.

Im not a fan of canvas lol

Of the two choices I would go with the LV. I prefer the looks and the company. With that said, I would expand my search and look at the similar bags from Mulberry or Berluti. Several other great makers out there and I also like the bags from Filson as a "tough as nails" option. Good luck.

Both great but my choice of those would also be for the Louis Vuitton. I'm a bit biased because I haven't purchased as much for Gucci.

I would get the LV. I like the duffel bags but would never get one for fear of it making my goods inside a marked target. I would be really pissed if my watch or valuables were stolen because my bag drew attention to them. Then again screw it.

have 3 LV Keepalls and they have been great bags.

I'm thinking I might also pick up a Goyard one as well. My wife has both Goyard and LV handbags and the Goyards are nicer and have held up much better. My Goyard wallets have held up better than my LVs as well. I also like that they are not as common as LV...well depending on where you're located.

My wife has had a couple LV keep all’s for years, I think before I met her so over a decade, it’s travelled a lot and still looks great. If they can survive her you’ll be OK

Loooongtime LV user / collector, inc worldwide travel with hard cases, typical airplane carry-on, wallet, wife purses, etc. As other said, LV..... plus the style is pretty classic so stuff 20+ years old are fine. Also note that repair costs, if ever needed because after what feels like a kabillion miles stuff happens, is relatively reasonable and fast.

For cleaning, i suggest Leatherique for leather and 303 Protectant for plastic. Hope this helps.

How can you tell? I just assume they're all fake, except for the ones my wife and I own anyway.

Close up you could probably tell a fake by examining the stitching or by the pattern and how it lines up on the bag but from a mile away?

Really like my LV duffle. I have the Monogram Eclipse in 55. One of the rivets on the handles cracked like 3 months after I bought it and they immediately gave me a brand new bag no questions asked.

LV definitely has awesome customer service. They don't play games!

My LV duffle is holding up really well and I love it, if you are thinking of using it for a longtime the LV would be my choice. I think my wife be in a better position to help you decide since she has more experience when it comes to owning luxury bags.

Biggest tell is LV uses one pice of material. So one side of the print will be upside down. 99 percent of all fakes will be separate cuts of material and all of the logos will be right side up. Also LV will never cut off there logo. So most fakes also cut off the logo by the stitching. So yes a mile away. ;)

Bought my wife a Keepall and she loves it. It is not that old and has seen limited travel so I cannot report on quality. She has used it as a carry-on bag twice and a few weekend car trips. Still looks new.

Keepall fan here. Haven't had any quality issues with the zippers, or straps, and takes tons of usage to start seeing wear on the corners (from storing in overhead compartments or tossing into the trunk). IMO, the only time you'll ever need to rebuy is if you're looking for a different size or pattern.

I'm not impressed with Gucci quality. I went in their Atlanta store recently to shop for a new hat and was horrified how cheaply made their $530 NY baseball cap was. The $30 Lacoste cap I was wearing was far better made. Not sure about their other products, but for the baseball caps I tried on, you're clearly just paying for the name.

I usually look at the handles or strap it’s hanging from, the tan leather straps start staining the moment you get them, fakes typically don’t stain at all.

My buddy had a $300 pair of Gucci flip flops, they were literally falling apart after the second time he wore them. They looked pretty much unworn but the finish started peeling off from where they creased when he walked. Soles had absolutely no wear

You are right. There is that too. There are a ton of tells to know if it’s a fake. Especially on a large luggage piece.
