Should I go German?
Hey watch world. I looking to add piece six to hopefully round out the collection and I was thinking going German. I’m leaning towards the dressier side, but a versatile piece would be preferable because I don’t dress up too often. Something different than what I have now especially in terms of the dial style. Suggestions would be great!

DJ and OP are particularly versatile, and would round out your Rolex collection nicely. You don’t have any yellow gold in that box yet, maybe a TT DJ? Nice collection, good luck!
PS: or just get a Lange lol |

I'd recommend a Lange or a Glashutte Original, depending on what you like and your budget.

Definitely, they make fantastic pieces. Without planning it, I’ve become a collector of German watches.

I would say Lange if you want to go for the best.
Glashutte Original for mid Nomos for budget

How do you like them and why did you start collecting German pieces? How does the Nomos fit on the wrist? I feel the lugs might be too long for my liking on my 6.75” wrist. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Love them all. Didn’t really set out to collect them, I just like all the individual pieces. My wrists are no bigger than yours and the Nomos fit great. It’s a terrific brand, great styles and great value. The GO is a recent acquisition and the quality is amazing. I highly recommend both brands. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If you have the means, would go Lange. I’ve owned nomos... nice but got bored of it and sold it. I like GO in pics but most of their pieces I’ve seen in person wear big on my 6.75 inch wrist.

Love my NOMOS but even I know they are just rest stops on the highway to GO and ALS.

I also think Lange 1 would be a nice addition to your collection.

Have you considered IWC - it’s virtually a German brand by location and some designs too ?
Otherwise ALS will see you right if the paper stack is large enough.

What does everyone think of this piece? Steel 40mm, 10mm thick time only with 100hr power reserve? To plain or simple, casual elegance?

A lot of competition for this style or watches (i.e., 3 hand time-only) but the GO certainty has strong technical credentials with the 100h reserve on a single barrel and the "excellence" certification.
If you appreciate those technical features and like the style of the watch it is definitively a piece to consider. |

I've owned several Nomos over the years and just picked up a GO. Personally I prefer the GO, but I will probably own a Nomos Ahoi or Club again. The value on Nomos is off the charts if you get the right piece.
I have a feeling its all going to end with a ALS 1815 Up/Down. The GO Senator Observer might also scratch the itch. |
