Which YG Rolex???

Which is your favorite between these two? Current collection contains: BLNR, LVc, Daytona 116500, WG DayDate 40 (blue dial w/ romans), TT Datejust 36, AP ROO.

1) Yellow Gold Day Date 40 228238 - Black Diagonal Dial

2) Yellow Gold Submariner 116618LB - Blue Dial

Fark now that is a HARD choice.

You'll eventually end up with both. :)

You're most certainly right. I need ONE now though. This poll may likely decide

I have a 116618 LN that I absolutely love. I like how the gold is set off by the black dial and bezel. I voted DD40 above as that yellow/black combo is what does it for me.

Never been a huge fan of the YG Sub......I feel the blue is not as versatile in terms of what you can wear it with. I mean, there is A LOT of blue on it. A lot of people feel this about the YMII and it's bezel....and at least the YMII has a neutral dial color.

If you are wearing all black....it sticks out, and not in a good way. Red shirt? Same. Green shirt? Same.

I could not wear that watch with anything but a white or blue shirt. Again, nice watch, but not as versatile for me. Besides, the DD is King anyways.....regardless of whether the Sub had a neutral bezel/dial.

Same here. That would certainly make the decision easier.

The blue doesn’t flow well with all gold

OP already has a LV submariner and a WG day date.

Why not a YG sky dweller rather than another Day-date or another Submariner, even if in different metal?

I know, this does not directly answers the vote between 2 models, but who knows... It may help nevertheless.

Between the two I would choose the DD. I see you already have a WG DD, personally I prefer the WG Sub over the YG Sub.

I vote for the YG Sub! That is my grail watch so I'm a bit biased in my vote. Lol!

Sub for me, I prefer RG to YG so with the CE bezel it is toned down a bit more, plus has the glidelock for ease of use.

If you still have all the pieces that are in your picture, I’d go DD for sure.
I personally wouldn’t do black if I was in your shoes, you’ve got a few black dials already....(JMO) but if you love black, that DD is a beauty! Can’t go wrong with a YG DD in that collection.

I was born and raised in Texas. I've been away for thirty years, but if I recall correctly the yellow gold Day-Date is the official national watch of Texas :-)

Sub, of course. Because:

-You already have a DD40
-The WG DD40 and sub will make an unbeatable pair
-Glide lock
-The sub is THE most versatile and best looking watch in YG

Good luck!

Thanks. I recently traded my 116613lb for a WG DD40 (blue dial). The others are still there. But I only have one black dial Rolex currently, which is the BLNR.

In that case....YG Sub! but eventually both....that’s what I ended up doing
