I beg to differ. Not a fan of the placement of the date window - wrecks the symmetry of the dial. The cross on the bracelet is offputting to me being polite and the bezel is even worse. To each his own, I guess.

I have the 2nd generation Vacheron and the Daytona. The Vacheron is a much nicer watch in a number of ways...

I love the reverse Panda in the OP. I saw it at the Vacheron factory before it was released. It was the one watch they asked me not to take a picture of. Beautiful watch.

they were so close to having an iconic watch with the second generation, they just had to not screw it up on the 3rd generation - but they really blew it. in terms of aesthetics and pricing. I really like the blue 3 hand overseas...and not everything is about residuals...but the pricing is far off. it should have been 15% below a AP RO. discounts are steep. but I fear the strap changing system will not hold up over time, and the design is not timeless yet. There will be a nicer/better Gen 4 out soon. this is like the DJ II of the VC overseas line...it just looks fat and off....finishing is impeccable though. If they got the case design right....and kept the central big date, i would have been all over it.

The VC is quite nice, the gen 2 with central date is a worthy alternative and the stunning blue enamel(I believe) dial makes it hard to look away from and much nicer than the Daytona colors. I would probably still choose the Daytona for it's heritage and timeless design.
The gen three VC is not in the same league, the date window alone ruins it. I'd prefer the Daytona anyday over that one. |

I really like the gen 2 Overseas as I’m a sucker for big dates. Agree with others that they went in the wrong direction with gen 3. From what I’ve read, this seems to be a fairly common opinion. I tried on the gen 3 last year and it did nothing for me.
I’d still take the Daytona over any version of the VC. |

The Gen 3 Overseas isn’t really comparable to the Daytona in my opinion. Given its dimensions, it’s more comparable to the 41mm ROC or even the 42mm ROO.
Very different watches both in terms of how they wear and their aesthetic. Very nice watch though! Enjoy |

Respectfully disagree- VC overseas Chrono just seems big and clunky compared to DaytonaC. And the date window placement on the current generation was a huge mistake IMO. Not to say it’s it a great watch, just not for me. I’ll stick w my DaytonaC.

I like it! How does it wear? I know it’s 42.5mm in diameter but is it thick and heavy? I own a white ceramic Daytona and I would consider trading it for this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I like it but I like the date placement on the previous version a little more.
I had a Daytona for a short while and flipped it because of legibility issues. The VC looks to be a little larger and more legible with wider, lumed hands. The Daytona has a paragraph of text on the dial which, for me, is way too busy. The VC dial is cleaner. The date window is also a plus. |

I waited to get my gen 2 until after seeing gen 3. Although the gen 3 is very nice, I preferred the 2 as I liked the gen 2's large date more, did not like the ring underneath the bezel on the new one, and felt that the taper of the bracelet as it leaves the case was just too sudden compared to the gen 2.
Still, this is all subjective: the gen 3 is a very nice watch with great finishing and is a real eye catcher....also, I like the reverse panda look, enjoy OP!!

I am happy that you like the Overseas a lot, congratulations I don‘t like it at all, the repetitive and ‘in your face‘ usage of the Maltese Cross is quite annoying imo. |

I do know what you mean, and I bought a D500 and a VCO non chrono last year, but the D500 has stayed. The VCO's appeal just wore off on me after a few weeks even tho I admired its classy touches, but ultimately the more simple but bulletproof D500 endured.

I do and have always liked the VC Oversea Chronograph and the panda dial on the one pictured is strong. I have never been able to handle the watch enough to get a real feel for sizing and wear. My AD used to carry VC but I do not have a local dealer. The prices have always been high and the discounting has always been significant. The secondary market is all over the place and my understanding is service is similar to PP in time and cost. All of those factors have stopped me from owning. The Daytona is an Iconic watch and it is hard to compare these two watches but I would and have gone with a Daytona every time I wanted to buy.

Whenever I see a date window on a chrono, it makes me think that a generic, off the shelf movement was slapped into the case. IMO, chronos shouldnt have a date window, it cheapens them aesthetically.

The Daytona loses a ton of points with screw down pushers, which to me is asinine on a chrono wherein I typically want to time something quickly and impromptu.
