1984 Rolex Submariner 16800 Transitional Bath Time...

Getting a weekly Bath for 34 years...

I think the 000 is transitional? I would like a 00 though and get the last one with 316... Great pic btw.

In 1984 the 16800 went from a Matte Dial to the Gloss dial/Gold Surrounds, from open 6 and 9's on the date to closed 6 and 9's even though they still used both till it phased out hence the transition... Only difference with the 16800 and 168000 the steel changed from 316L to 904L.... But the 168000 904L steel was only on the case, the bracelet still stayed 316L...
