Icon10 So this just happened…

So while I find the Submariner super comfortable, I think it’s too small… And I found the SD43 a bit top heavy due to the shape of the back of the case (it was pivoting)... and the black everything was a bit unexciting to me.

I sold the SD43 and I reached out to my dealer and they thought they can get me a D-Blue Sea Dweller Deep Sea in short order. Fast forward a couple of weeks and now I own a watch which two years ago I wouldn’t have even accepted as a gift… It’s amazing how your tastes change when you keep an open mind…

I absolutely love this beast. The dial is amazing. It's a big watch but based on my experience with the SD43 you can and should cross shop the two. To me they wear very similarly but the DSSD feels and looks substantially heavier duty. FYI my wrist is seven and a quarter inch.

One of the things that I was worried about was the writing on the ring. I am pleased to say that at least to me that writing gets lost in the background because my eyes are drawn to the dial. The other thing I was worried about is the date that is a bit misaligned to the left. But everything works well from a design standpoint.

Here are three quick pictures. More to follow.

Congrats on the "big boys" watch.
One suggestion in case it gets little uncomfortable. Play with adjustable clasp. I found it's very useful during different time of day. Once you find your sweet spot the watch is very comfortable and at the same time wears pleasantly different from other watches. As for weight, you'll not feel it's heavy after a couple of days. Wear your DSSD in good health.

Congrats! It's a watch that I think looks so much better in person and on the wrist than in the pictures. I've tried one before and it was very tempting.

Thank you. The clasp is awesome! I removed the diver extension and am using the half link on the six o'clock side. Overall I find the watch no less comfortable than the SD43 right now but will give it a few more days before I make a final assessment. Switching between the Tudor and the D-Blue has been seamless even though the Tudor is half the weight..

Dial is so amazing and unique. I love that it looks black in the dark but opens up in the light. So cool.

Thanks. It's big but I think the tweks they made this year allow it to wear smaller.

I love it in pics too but you are right, when you look at it in pictures it is too easy to nit pick every feature. But in reality the design actually works really well.

Cool. And your Tudor is a great rotation.

I tried a DSSD on an Everest rubber strap and found it held the watch better on my wrist than the bracelet. If your opinion should go south, give that a try before any drastic decision, but I'm guessing it won't be off your wrist anytime soon.

BIG congrats! Over recent weeks, I have seen more incomings than any other reference.

I got mine about a month ago. There simply is no other watch like the 126660. The improvements over the last iteration were enough for me to get one.

Congrats!

It's funny how comfortable the DSSD wears isn't it? I thik the case back has a lot to do with that, as does the Glide Lock and small enhancements made this year to the 126660.

I have the Black dial and even though it doesn't have that gradient dial, I still don't notice the writing on the ring - unless I pay attention to it it just is part of the background.

Love it - congratulations. I tried on the black version this past weekend and would have been all over it if I didn't just get an SD43. It's really interesting - having never seen one in the wild I just thought it would be too enormous, but I found it really comfortable and I liked the heft of it. It's definitely on my radar (or should that be sonar? Haha) for the future.
