Advice needed on next purchase: SS BLRO or DSSD D-blue

OK, I’m looking for some opinions regarding my next purchase. Currently I have a platinum 36 mm DD for dress wear and weekends. I am looking for an daily wear SS watch and have narrowed it down to the DSSD D-blue or SS GMT BLRO. I’ve owned a D-blue and a BLNR previously. If not for the BLRO I would buy the D-blue again. I loved the unique dial of the D-blue and regret getting rid of it. I really didn’t have a problem fitting it under my shirt cuff. It’s a big watch but I found that it wears very comfortably due to the raised case back that keeps the crown from rubbing on my wrist I have also always loved the bezel colors of the BLRO and I like the second time zone function even though I don’t travel much. Also the Jubilee bracelet is a nice change from all the oyster bracelets I have owned. Being less bulky then the D-blue might be a plus. So do I go with the smaller GMT BLRO or the big D-blue. I will also likely be replacing my DD 36 with a Platona in the future. Any advice and opinions would be great.

Sounds like it’s the BLRO to me.

I prefer the D-blue, even though the Pepsi is a great watch.

I am partial to the D-Blue but want a Pepsi... My vote is for a Pepsi.

I own DSSD and GMT II. These two are totally different watches. As for me I like both watches. I wear GMT II in the office during weekdays and DSSD on the weekends. It's difficult to compare them. It seems that you should buy both

I asked my AD for both. I got the 126660 last month. Still waiting for the 126710.

Ok...might get flamed for this: I just don’t get the love for the Jubilee on the Pepsi. Certainly, it gives it an old-school vibe (too much so?) and is a wonderfully comfortable option, but to me it belongs on non-pro models with fluted bezels. Also, that bracelet always seemed better to me with the hidden clasp; Oyster clasp on Jubilee seems like a downgrade, even with the easy link, which I have yet to use on any of the ones I have had. Meanwhile, the D-blue is a totally consistent, tool-ish diver—probably the best from any brand. It’s bracelet, particularly on the latest version, is perfectly suited to the watch’s function. Unnecessary for desk-diving, of course, but somehow more desirable, again only in my opinion. The smaller adjustments available with the glide-lock are more useful, to me. And then there’s that dial....

I agree that the super jubilee with hidden clasp was a much slicker and cohesive look. Regarding the DSSD, the glidelock clasp that can be adjusted with the watch on was my favorite feature. I could keep it perfectly sized regardless of my wrist size as the temperature changed. It would always fit perfectly and the crown would never dig into my wrist. The BLRO catches my eye due to the uniqueness and comfort of the jubilee as well as the bezel colors which I think are perfect.

Trade everything for ..

WG DD40 with dial of your choice
Plat Daytona

Why bother with over-hyped ss ones which everybody wears ??

Since you’ve already owned the Dblue and it didn’t stick, I’d try something different. BLRO gets my vote

I'd go BLRO esp with a 36mm, less of an adjustment when switching.

Tin helmet donned... but I just do not get the BLRO (pink-red) and the jubilee bracelet.

I think that as you clearly regret selling your D-Blue previously then you cannot go wrong with the updated version.

Despite the so called shortages of the BLRO I've seen 3 or 4 worn by expats over here in Saudi in the Expat community and only 1 person wearing a DeepSea D-Blue in 2 years, and it was the D-Blue that got the attention. In the long run I don't think the new BLRO will be in short supply as they are already pushing out more of these than for example the SS Daytonas. So you can always get one later.

Then again I do have a dog in this fight...

Are you a water sports guy or a beach guy? If yes, then i would go DSSD. If not, BLRO. Also depends on what you are changing your DD for.
